ISO bougie amateur/junior rider who wants to learn to jump in style with a former GP horse

If you are bougie and like pretty things, here is a “Gucci” schoolmaster. This stunning 16YO, Oldenburg is ready for his next assignement. He is looking for an adult (he is not opposed to a kid, but ideally he would like a mature adult who has unlimited access to treats).
This former 1m45 horse, would like a 4 day type of ammy life. Trot and canter some on the flat, but mostly hang out in the corner with the other ladies. And then on jumping days he wants to look cute with his little knees up and kind of be in charge of the whole operation. Roles in the jump schools would ideally be divided as follow.

Loki will be in charge of :
The speed (mostly first and second gear on cruise control). The pedal to the metal days are over, bring in optimum time.

The Balance (neck up at all times, so there is enough dashboard to catch rider when she/he makes dicey decisions). His barn nickname is the LLama.

The spots/distances. In Loki we trust, if you think flyers are in the cards, rethink your life choices. This guy will fit one in “add nauseam” (pun intended on the spelling).

You will be in charge of
Steering …

Providing oranges flavored Gatorade so he can hang out with the ammy ladies squad on Sunday mimosa lessons. This horse is obsessed with orange Gatorade.

Keeping any tractors away from his life. Loki will lose his s**t and have a complete meltdown when he sees a tractor. So no riding when the ring is being dragged.

You remember when I said he wanted a bougie rider. Yeah Loki is not into an outdoorsy lifestyle. His version of outdoors is a manicured golf like grass arena. But forget the whole trail riding thing. This boy value his GGT footing and so if you like the woods and rugged terrains, move on.

He still can jump the bigger jumps, but why should he when he is so perfect at being an amazing teacher over the puddle jumps.

He can still show, but honestly while he will do it fine, he is not into the gypsy lifestyle anymore. After years of being on the road he wants a stable simple job teaching a novice rider what it feels like to ride a former quarter million dollar athlete.

He is very very comfy, quiet but not lazy, his very uphill canter is the bomb to find the jumps on and he has the smoothest jump ever (hip replacement, bad back, questionable fitness level will be fine on this boy). If this guy doesn’t find his new home soon I will try a margarita challenge. Can you jump a 2ft vertical without spilling your drink. I think he is smooth enough. Actually I think he is too smooth for Martinis they would barely be stirred and certainly not shaken.

To ya’ll who are going to ask, do you think he would do the long stirrup and mini Eq, your guess is as good as mine, but honestly why not. He would look cute in the hunter ring.

Owner is looking for his next person because she is studying crazy space bad ass engineering in College.

He is currently located in Port Orange, FL.

Lower level been there done that low 4 figure schoolmaster

Misty the 18YO, 15.2H TB is giving our imported warmbloods a run for their money.
This very safe and bombproof mare is ready to teach her next partner.
She has been my barn manager’s pet for the past 12 years but unfortunately a lack of time and funds are forcing her to find Mysty her next home.
She is open to a lease in the low 4 figure range or forever home in the mid 4 figure range.
Misty has done it all, dressage, eventing, up to the 0.85m in the jumpers.
She is a good horse to learn on as she has zero spook or attitude. Now that being said, she does have a motor over fences. So no hunter ring in this girl’s future.
If slow and steady is your jam, she might not be a fit.
Now that being said she is not a fire breathing dragon either and she has been teaching a beginner/novice rider from w/t to 2’3ft courses the past 2 years.

You will be fully vetted, chill no flexions and 72 X-rays for you, no I mean we will be very picky to where she goes.
Speaking of PPE, Mysty is super sound, currently going barefoot, she has had no maintenance up to now, she is not on any supplements or hormones.
She will hack and trail ride like a champ, and she is a super friendly easy going gal, happy to do her job.

Wake up America, horse shopping is about to become even more difficult

Frustrating… this would be the key word to describe what horse shopping and horse selling feels like in 2025.
Buyers overwhelmed with having to deal with delusional sellers (best case scenario) to plain crooks (worst case scenario) on daily basis. Then comes the question of the budget, as the new norm is to need a budget rivaling a small country’s GDP to afford a 15H Hony to pack little Susie in the short stirrup division. And then the nail in the coffin of every horse shopping trip, the dreaded PPE. Nowadays your odds of having a successful vetting are about as good as hitting the jackpot at the slot machines in Vegas (actually never mind, your odds are better in Vegas, and at least you get a free drink out of it…).

Sadly, It’s not much better on the seller’s side. More and more big names are throwing the towel and quitting this industry. Right now, horse selling is looking more and more like a bad day on Tinder. People setting up “trials” and not showing up, people ghosting you after coming to try a horse, people vanishing after successful vettings. Toxic doesn’t even begin to describe the seller/buyer relationship. And you know the elusive 6ft guy who is barely 5ft8 on his tippy toes when he shows up on the first date. Yeah try that with a “1m20” rider who wants a 1m40 horse and ends up needing dental floss to get rid of all the mane stuck in her/his teeth after chipping so many times over a 0.75m vertical. And don’t even get me started on the non sense and unrealistic new standards of vettings. On the bright side, I’m saving a lot on my power bill with all my horses glowing in the dark from the exposure to radiations with the million X-rays taken at each PPE.
Bottom line, both horse shopping and horse selling in 2025 suck.
And guess what? It’s about to get even worse…
How come? Well for decades the US has been the main outlet for Europeans to export their horses. But this is about to change.

Enters China.

Yeah that’s right, over the past 2 or 3 years the export of European horses to China has exploded.
Equestrian sports are growing very very fast in China and their need for warmbloods is insatiable.

A couple of quick stats to get you up to speed :

- Equestrian clubs have skyrocketed from 907 facilities in 2016 to 2,815 in 2024

- By 2019, over 1.19 million people were registered at 2,000 equestrian clubs, with around 3.67 million horses across the country.

- As of 2019, riders under 6 years old made up 48% of club memberships; ages 7–13 accounted for 40%; and 59% of adult participants were female

What do those numbers tell us? That China is going to need a s**tload of warmbloods in the next 10 years (while they start breeding their own). And guess what they are currently shopping for : pretty horses between 6 and 10YO, with good brains, competitive and safe for younger riders and female riders.
Sounds familiar?
And … drumroll… they are not quite as picky for vettings as US customers. They want decent X-rays and good clinical exams but they will still purchase horses with X-ray findings that are non clinical and purely cosmetic. You know that chip in outside of the joint on that 1m50 horse, yeah they are not going to give a crap. You know that amazing horse with an out of this world show record who has some narrowing of the spaces between 2 vertebrae in the back but doesn’t show any back pain? yeah, that horse is getting a one way ticket to China.

So what I’m trying say and warn people about is that prices are not going down anytime soon and actually the demand is about to get higher than the supply.

The budgets of those Chinese clients are similar to the US clients.

I’mp saying that our industry might have to make some serious changes because if we keep the current standards of vetting and we keep on searching for horses, with unrealistic expectations we might run out of options. Plain and simple.

I was in Europe 2 weeks ago and met a Chinese agent who had hundreds of requests from clients to find horses. Hundreds…

This is becoming such a trend that some quarantine centers (horses get quarantined before and after they are shipped to China) are being built in Europe. Those centers are designed to house hundreds and hundreds of horses.

If you are a trainer who goes to Europe to horse shop make sure to send some chocolate to your “agent” for Christmas, if you are a client be aware that horse shopping is about to get even more complicated.

7YO Mare (Chacco Blue x Balou) to bring up the 1m45+ classes

You know when people says : nothing can beat a good mare… well, here we go.
chaccobel has everything it takes to be a top contender in the jumpers in the 1m45+ classes.
This red head who actually doesn’t have any attitude or quirks, is the real deal.
She has all the scope in the World, is very careful, and is incredibly trainable.
Now she is a little behind training wise as a 7YO and could use more flatwork to improve her rideabilty.
So we think she would do better with a pro or a knowledgeable ammy/junior who can educate a young horse.
She is currently jumping clear at the 1m30/1m35 level and would probably need a little bit more time at that level before moving up.
She is bold and not spooky, doesn’t need hormones to function. She can go in a snaffle, but even if you are not built like a linebacker you might need a little bit more bit. But she is not heavy or strong, just an over eager red head.
She is currently in the high 5 range import included.
This is a serious upper level prospect who is going to win a lot of speed classes and jump offs
Currently located in France
Super X-rays, will pass a PPE.

Safe 3ft hunter schoolmaster to build confidence over fences

Saying that this horse loves to jump is the understatement of the century. Ngl he is a real push ride on the flat (borderline lazy). As a matter fact his favorite move on the flat is “the shuffle”, his motto : slow and steady wins the flat class. Don’t get me wrong he can point his little toes and will ribbon in the hack, just not going to get there in a hurry.
Now you put jumps in front of Bear and you can see the biggest smile on his face, I swear. He will jump anything, from any spot.
So if you are an ammy or junior, who doesn’t mind a little kick ride on the flat but would love a total schoolmaster over fences, that will build your confidence. Bear is your guy. He is not hot over fences, but he just is happier when there are sticks in the way.
His favorite week would be 3 to 4 rides with a less experienced rider, 2 of those over fences, a nice hack and one flat session. He would love to skip the pro rides and thrives in a less is more environment.
If you are looking for a very dependable, yet fancy partner, this 8YO, 16.1H Hanoverian is a gem.

Folks, we gonna need an Ark here before Hawaii and the crew floats away. We had one of the mildest/driest June/July ever … and now we have one of the wettest. Owning a farm in Florida is not for the faint heart.
Now on the bright side, you know if you get an EquiSale horse that they will go through puddles.
Anybody needs water? I have some I can spare with…

ISO been there done that 3 ring schoolmaster

Again read carefully, don’t just stop at “I’m looking for a horse” before messaging me. READ THE WHOLE THING.
Looking for a lease on a been there, done that 3 ring type,, to start in the 2’6 and hopefully dabble in the 3ft. When I say 3 ring horse I don’t mean one who sucks at everything besides being a horse, I mean a horse who will be decently competitive in one ring (preference would be jumpers) but could clean up well enough to do an occasional derby or an adult eq class. So this means that we can’t do spicy (and we don’t do prep either).
The rider is a young adult in College who started to ride 2 and 1/2 years ago. She has been very successful at the 2ft level and just took reserve at WEC in the 0.65m. But she still has a lot to learn so we want a real schoolmaster.
We will only be looking at equine who have an AARP card and qualify for the senior discounts. No green horses. If the horse’s age doesn’t have a “teen” in it, we are out.
Horse will be kept a the most bougie barn possible in SC and an even bougier one in Florida. He will received top of the line care (chiro, masseuse, personal trainer, personal assistant, butler, chauffeur, emotional support animal, spiritual guide, shaman, therapist … whatever this horse needs, he will have).
He will only be shown a handful of time at Tryon and WEC during the lease.
No spook, no bad habits, solid citizens only. Needs to enjoy trail riding and being a pet. Friendly personality a must. Rider likes to play my little pony and groom.
If you have a nice show horse who needs an easy job and needs his bills paid while you are pregnant, divorcing, raising kids, going to college, dealing with health issues and you want your horse to stay fit and live a pampered life, message us.
Horse needs to be sound enough to get the job done without us needing a PhD in chemistry to keep up with the maintenance, meds and supplements. Reasonable maintenance is expected.

The goal is to jump in the 0.85m later on and 2’6 derbies and Eq classes and maybe school 3ft.
No ponies, rider is l a normal size human. No giants, rider is a normal size human.
Lease budget in the low five range for the year.
We are located in FL the closer the better.

❌SOLD❌

Ultimate ammy/junior jumper shown 1m35 and currently schooling 1m50

If you need a confidence builder with unlimited scope and zero emotions, I have the perfect one.
This mare (yes, I know I said zero emotions, but for real this gal identify as a DGAF gelding) is the horse everybody needs to venture in the 1m30+ classes.
She is a little bit of a diamond in the rough, in a way that at 9YO she has “only shown up to 1m30” but she is cuurently schooling 1m50/1m55 fences and so we really think that she will have no issues to compete at least at the 1m45 level.
She will jump anything in front of her, will hack anywhere, she comes with zero warning labels or a foot thick user guide. Tack up, get on, squeeze with your legs, steer to whatever fences at whatever height, the end.
I would say she is medium blood, so while she is not a kick ride or lazy, she will not drag your princess self to the jump, you will have to somewhat put your legs on to create some momentum. But you will not have to shove, push, motivate, she has her own engine.
She is careful enough but not jump out of her skin careful. So if you make a bad decision the top rail will come down but you will make it to the other side of the fence.
High five range (import included). To all the people who are going to be, but why is she so cheap? First high five is a s… load of money, but also there is a small issue with the show record. She showed exclusively the past 3 years in some sort of cultish/local circuit in the middle of nowhere in Europe. So while she did extremely well and never had a stop or anything bad, I have zero proof of her showing since 2020. We have videos of her showing but I can’t provide an actual show record. I have older results avaialble. She also started to show again with 2 amateurs in France in the 1m20/1m30 with clear rounds and I have the record of that.
So she is a made upper level jumper, with very little wear and tear and potential to do the big classes.

Dear Daddy who is suing my clients and dear friends,

I wanted to take the opportunity to reach out to you about the ongoing situation. First let me tell you that I’m truly sorry that your kid got bucked off a horse, and I really hope she is ok.
Now that being said, if falling off a suicidal herbivore with a very strong flight instinct and the mental stability of Britney Spears, is something you are not prepared to deal with then maybe Equestrian sports are not the answer. Horses are unreliable. Period. Some more than others but in general assume the worst is going to happen and most likely it will!
Maybe find an activity where gravity doesn’t have such an impact either, Curling, cricket or if you really want to get adventurous, Mini golf but for sure take horses out of the equation.

So I sold the culprit to one of my friends 7 years ago (thank god my name was not attached anywhere or I would be looking for a lawyer). My friend ended up sending him back to me to be trained and marketed (he was imported as an investment horse). I found the perfect home for him and and my friend sold him to an amateur rider who enjoyed him for several years.

This is where you enter the picture. I assume that you went and tried the horse and hired a progressional to advise you on said purchase. You didn’t buy said horse from some shady horse dealer. You bought said horse from an ammy who shows in the 2’6 and campaigned said horse for over 4 years.
Now after months of owning the horse, he is apparently not performing the way he is supposed to and your first instinct is to sue not only the ammy seller but also the original owner from 5 years ago? Hey buddy you forgot to sue the breeder, the owner of the sire and a bunch of other people in the way. After all, it’s all the breeder’s fault, if the horse was never born, your kid would not have been bucked off.

What kind of alternate universe have we entered? For real???

Yes there are lots of shady people with no ethics in this industry. But also you are buying a horse who is a living creature. Those animals will stand in the pouring rain and wind 10ft away from a run in, they will roll and get stuck under a fence in a 20 acres pasture, they will stop drinking when it’s cold and die from a death tummy ache, so here we go…
So Daddy, this is a tough industry in general, but your kind of people make it even harder. Because now my poor client/friend has to spend time, money and effort to deal with your s**t. So please feel free to message me and I will be happy to recommend some table tennis instructors for your kid’s next chapter because we certainly don’t want people like you in our sport. And for the love of god, stop suing for stupid reasons, it’s a waste of time and energy. I did deal with a lawsuit, I did win because it was as frivolous as this one but for 2 years I had to spend some time and energy to make it go away.

A professional who is so close to shave her head and crash out à la Britney Spears.

WARNING : For the people who don’t like swear words, please mute the video (scuse my French - and yes I can say that as I am indeed Frenc
