🎆 New Year’s Eve & Your Dog: Firework Safety Tips 🐾
From all of us at 386 K9 — Mastering Control. Unleashing Potential.
Fireworks can be exciting for us, but they’re often stressful and overwhelming for our dogs. Here are some simple, effective tips to help keep your pup calm and safe as we ring in the New Year:
🐶 How to Help Your Dog Tonight:
• Create a safe space – A quiet room or crate with familiar bedding helps dogs feel secure.
• Keep them indoors – Even well-trained dogs can panic and bolt when fireworks go off.
• Add background noise – TV, white noise, or calming music can help mask the sound.
• Stay calm yourself – Your energy matters. Calm, confident leadership helps dogs regulate.
• Exercise earlier in the day – A physically and mentally fulfilled dog is more relaxed at night.
• Use calming tools if needed – Anxiety wraps, enrichment toys, or vet-approved calming aids can help.
⚠️ Avoid: forcing comfort, punishment, or leaving dogs outside unattended.
As we head into the New Year, our goal remains the same — helping dogs and owners build calm, confident relationships through structure, clarity, and trust.
🎉 From our 386 K9 family to yours, Happy New Year!
Here’s to a safe night and a strong year of training ahead.
