🐾 Consistency Matters in Grooming

Something I wish more pet parents knew is that grooming is a relationship, not just an appointment.

For nervous dogs, a grooming salon can be overwhelming—new people, loud dryers, clippers, other dogs and lots of handling. Frequently switching groomers can sometimes make that harder because they’re constantly having to adjust to someone and somewhere new.

Seeing the same groomer consistently gives your dog a chance to learn the routine, build trust and realize, “I know this person. I know what happens here. I’m okay.” 💗

A dog who struggles during their first few appointments isn’t necessarily a “bad” dog. Some simply need more time and patience. As long as a dog isn’t putting themselves or me in danger, I genuinely want to work with them—even if that means taking things slowly and celebrating small improvements. My goal is for your dog to eventually love coming to see me, or at the very least feel safe and comfortable being groomed.

You can help at home, too! Regularly brush your dog, handle their feet/ears/face, introduce them to the sound and vibration of something like an electric toothbrush, safely socialize them, and learn their signs of stress.

Grooming is something dogs have to learn, too. Consistency, patience and teamwork between you and your groomer can make a huge difference. 🐶🫧💗

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far!!! 💗 When I first started grooming, I wasn’t really able to promote myself or build relationships with my clients.

Making the move to The Dapper Dog almost a year ago was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my professional career. Actually getting to have a conversation with my clients has made such an impact on me. I’ve gotten to hear about so many of you and your fur babies’ journeys and I love getting to be a small chapter in their stories. 💕

Being able to share my work and have you guys support me by liking, sharing, commenting and recommending me means SO much. I still have a long way to grow and I’ll always be learning, but I genuinely love what I do and every dog that sits on my table.

I’m so excited to officially start offering dog sitting and drop-in visits starting IN SEPTEMBER! 🤍

I’ve been a professional dog groomer for 6 years, so caring for dogs isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s what I do every day. I’m experienced with all kinds of personalities, sizes, and energy levels, and I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust.

At home, I have three friendly, dog-social pups of my own who love making new friends! My goal is to make your dog feel as comfortable and loved as possible while you’re away.

🐶 Services I offer:
• Drop-in visits at your home for potty breaks, feeding, walks, playtime, and cuddles.
• Overnight stays in my home for dogs who are crate trained (owners must provide their dog’s crate).

📸 You’ll also receive regular photo and video updates so you can enjoy your trip knowing your best friend is doing great.

To make sure every dog has a safe and enjoyable experience, overnight guests should:
