From Santa's other workshop...
Anybody thinking about getting their child a rabbit for Christmas? Questioning, Considering us? Not sure if you want to wait on a bunny until after christmas? You're telling us that you want to give it to your child on Christmas Day right? Will let us plant a seed and give you advice.
Think of all the crazy holiday madness, visiting family, everybody's busy, and after Christmas we have all these new toys to tinker around with. But then you bring a new bunny home on Christmas Day and now all those toys are just pushed aside in the corner. Or worse the bunny doesn't get as much attention as it should because little Johnny or little Judy is more interested in the new Minecraft 10.0 or their Apple iPhone 13.
Let us suggest that it's a good idea, to give them the cage for Christmas with the accessories and let us create a photo shoot of their new bunny for you to put inside the cage. That way, on Christmas morning, not only do they get to enjoy the things that they have. They have plenty of time to enjoy everything. And they have plenty of time to do research, and anticipate and prepare their selves to be responsible enough to take care of this bunny. Because up until Christmas Day they never knew that you were going to spring a new bunny on them did they? They had no idea that they were going to have all these new responsibilities did they?
The idea is amazing, finding a bunny under the Christmas tree is an amazing idea and experience itself but so is teaching them patience and knowing that you've got their attention for a few weeks long enough to get them to really pay attention and learn what their future pet is going to need and require.
Bringing a pet home is a big step.
We as a rescue, have taken in so many rabbits that are surrenders. You wouldn't believe how many rabbits have been found on the side of the road and rescued by customers who took care of them for several years and now no longer can take care of them. Then they come to us. A bunny isn't just a cute gesture, something to pick up on Christmas or Easter, to love for a little while as long as it's cute and furry and then disposed of once it gets big or naughty. They belong in the wild, or they belong as a valued and cared for family pet. We try our very best to make sure that all of our rabbits are placed in good homes and that there is a less than likely chance that the rabbit will ever be rehomed again.
If you'd like more information on how to set up this idea for your child for Christmas, please send us a message and we will give you all the juicy details from front to back! You can literally have a cage setup, food bunny and everything you need for under $100 and it can be done between now and Friday!
