Ozzie Looking for Love Ozzie (whose full name is Hoffman's Ozzie of Kensington) is a Miniature Australian Shepherd, registered with the National Stock Dog Registry.

He's a blue merle and is looking for love, preferably with a tricolor Mini Aussie female.

We have a brand new family member: meet Ivy, a 3-year-old female Pomeranian. We adopted her yesterday through DeSoto County Animal Services. She was one of 56 dogs the county rescued from an alleged puppy mill. I first met her when I volunteered to help at Animal Services by bathing several of the rescued dogs. Most had probably never been out of their cages in their entire lives. Ivy seemed to appreciate very much the bath I gave her, putting the nasty fleas down for a short while anyway.
I finally was able to get her Friday, so John Hoffman and our friend Glenn Smoak brought Ozzie to meet prospective adoptees. He took a shine to her right away.
When we brought Ivy home, she had never apparently worn a collar or walked on a leash; she had not been inside a house or walked on a grass lawn. But she learned quickly and this morning we did a "pack walk" with John, me, and Ozzie. She seemed to enjoy herself immensely and quickly learned to follow along on the leash.
She slept in the kennel by our bed, and this morning when we all woke up and I brought her on the bed, she jumped and lept and wagged her fluffy tail as if to say, "It was NOT a dream -- I really AM living in this new place!"
As they say, saving just one dog won't change the world, but surely it will change the world for that one dog.
