🔸 I understand! In today’s world, you have to be guarded. Scammers are everywhere and horrible, or I guess I should say good? It doesn’t matter if it’s an animal (from a fish to a horse) or an item, I’ve seen scammers across the board!
Daily I hear “I’m not comfortable sending money to a stranger”. As a buyer, that’s a hard one. I’ve passed on my fair share of wants because the seller just looked sketchy. There wasn’t enough information for me to feel comfortable sending a complete stranger 💰 Sometimes you have to just make the decision- is it worth it? If it’s not, you loose out on that thing you wanted so badly.
🔹On the flip side, let me share the sellers POV. Say you reach out after seeing an absolutely adorable 4 week old baby bunny that’s PERFECT! You and 6 other people. But you were first! You’re not comfortable sending 💰 to someone but will pay in 💵 at pick up! Say I take your word for it, mark that bunny reserved, and then turn away those 6 other interested parties. Weeks go by and it’s now pick up time! Your baby is 8 weeks old and right there at the ugly phase! Yeah, that’s typically temporary but either way, they just look awkward! You’ve had car troubles, lack of work, emergency, change of heart, or God forbid the spouse finds out and doesn’t agree- you no longer want to get that bunny you chose 4 weeks ago. Now I have an 8 week old baby ready to go, smack dab in the ugly phase, and no home. Those other 6 people, if I could even remember who they were, have found other bunnies when I told them yours was reserved. “Your” baby is no longer desired and I have a baby that I either need to reduce or just let it wait for the right perfect home to come along. Taking up cage space.
Without you sending a deposit, there is no true commitment on your end. Could someone still back out? Absolutely! I don’t ever want my babies to go to a family just because they HAD to take them! That’s not the point. There’s conversations that can be had. However, please remember, as much as you’re not comfortable sending 💰 to a stranger, I’m not comfortable taking the word of a stranger. 🫶🏼
