We are planning on having TWO Vet Camps this year to accommodate the growing number of applicants!!! Both camps will be the same week, June 9-13. There will be a morning camp (8:30am - 12pm) and an afternoon camp (1pm - 4:30pm). Both camps will be the same. The applicants will be picked AT RANDOM (not in order of applications). We are unable to specifically assign them to morning or afternoon camp. Camp is open to everyone ages 8-11, preference is made to current clients and those who have not attended before.

If you find your pet unconscious these steps could help you and your pet.

1. Check their airway for any blockages by pulling their tongue forward and extending their neck. Check for a pulse using your index and middle fingers on the inside rear leg about mid-thigh. Get your pet to the ground if they are not there already and lay them on their right side.

2. If the airway is clear and no pulse is detected start chest compressions. Compressions need to be 1/3-1/2 chest depth and aim for 100-120 compressions per minute. Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees is a good tempo to achieve the correct compression rate.

3. For every 30 compressions you need to give 2 breaths. Count your compressions out loud so you know when to give 2 breaths. To give a breath, close your pets mouth and extend their neck to align the nose with the spine. Give 2 breaths through their nose, you should be able to watch the chest rise. Breaths should be completed in 3-5 seconds.

4. Resume chest compressions and get to the nearest animal hospital.
