We officially kicked off the 2026 hay season this afternoon!

We are thankful to report that everything went smoothly today with no equipment malfunctions, and we are hopeful to bale again as soon as the weather permits. We know several customers on our list were not reached today, because we only bale a small amount of hay on opening day in the event of equipment problems . Please do not worry — we have plenty more hay coming in the very near future.

As always, the best way to ensure you are added to our 2026 customer list is to text Heather directly at 601-795-7551. While we do our best to keep up with Facebook comments and messages, comments can occasionally be missed, and we never want anyone to miss out on the hay they need for their horses.

One of our favorite parts of hay season is hearing feedback from our customers. Already today, one customer shared that she swept out her trailer and that her animals loved the scraps left behind! Another customer told us that her horses left the green grass in the pasture to come eat the fresh hay instead. Comments like these make all the hard work worth it and remind us why we love what we do.

Also , we wanted to share a picture of one of our customers beautiful horses enjoying the first hay of 2026 season. @
Thank you all so much for your continued support — we are excited for another great hay season ahead!

It’s time for hay! We’ve all been waiting for several months to get into this position. Hay is just beginning to grow enough to begin harvesting. Hopefully in a couple of days the ground will dry enough to cut the hay and we’ll be baling late this weekend. If we are able to bale soon your horses will be treated to some of the best hay that we have ever produced. We always go small on the first field because hay equipment is usually ornery after having the winter off. Then if all goes well it’s up to the weather, and at present that looks pretty good. Text Heather at 601-795-7551 to get in line. See y’all soon.

Edit.
As stated earlier: first field of the year we only bale a small amount of hay. This is to allow for equipment malfunctions or other problems typical of machinery that has been idle for several months. Currently we are PLANNING to bale Sunday. That may not be possible Given the extreme rainfall the last two weeks. The ground has to dry out a bit before we can cut the hay.
We certainly won’t be able to get to everyone the first day but we’ll have a lot more to come in a few more days.

It won’t be long now! We had over 5 inches of rain this week and the hayfields are already responding very well. If all goes well in about 2 weeks we’ll kick off the 2026 baling season. Text Heather at 601-795-7551 to get in line for the first hay of the season. Your horse won’t be disappointed.

Getting ready for fertilizer. We will be applying fertilizer to these beautiful hay fields in the next day or two, hopefully a good rain won’t be far behind. As of now the hayfields are in top condition.
We plan to begin baling in mid-May. Text Heather at 601-795-7551 to get on the list for 2026.

It’s about this time of year when I get overly optimistic about having an early first cutting. A cool April usually teaches me to be patient.

At any rate our fields couldn’t look much better for early March.

It’s been a good while since our last post and we certainly have been busy. Our 2026 hay season has been underway since our first chemical application in December. As you can see from the picture, the fields are beginning to break dormancy; and so are the weeds! Our war on weeds will continue throughout the year as we work to produce our best hay crop ever this year. Hopefully we’ll be blessed with favorable weather and we will be baling our first hay of the season in May. Well do our best to keep everyone posted.

Our 2025 hay season is over!

The season is officially over. Yesterday we baled what little hay we were able to grow since September. Yield was only about 25% of normal. We truly hate that we weren’t able to reach everyone or provide the full amount of hay each customer needed this year. Unfortunately, weather and growing conditions can be unpredictable, but we did our best to serve as many of you as possible.

As always, we are incredibly thankful for each and every one of our customers. Your loyalty and continued support mean the world to us year after year.

We’ll kick off the 2026 hay season in a few weeks. W**d control normally begins in December and continues until baling is complete We’ll start a new booking list in the spring, so if you’d like to be added for next year, please reach out to Heather in the early spring to get on the list.

So for now we get a few weeks off after all the eqpt is cleaned and put away then get ready for next year.

Thank you again for another season of support — we couldn’t do this without you!

May God bless and keep safe you and all your families!

🌾 Hay Update 🌾

We wanted to give everyone a quick update — we still have not yet begun baling the last fields of hay for the season, but we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to bale as soon as next week if possible. Baling hay in November is extremely challenging and thats where we are going to end up.

We also want to remind everyone that quantities will be extremely limited this cutting since there has been less than two inches of rain in the past 2 months. We’ll do our very best to reach as many of our customers as we can, but at this time, we’re unsure how many people we’ll be able to serve. Yields will probably be about 30% of normal.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we wrap up what has been a challenging season. We truly appreciate your continued support!

🌾 Hay Update 🌾

We’re hoping to have one last cut in the next few weeks, but with only 2 inches of rain in the past two months, the grass simply hasn’t grown like we’d hoped. Unfortunately, that means quantities will be extremely limited this round.

At this time, we’re not sure how much we’ll be able to produce—we just know that it will be limited. We won’t know exact quantities until we’re able to cut and see just how many bales we’re able to provide.

As much as we hate to say it, this is a good reminder of why we always encourage customers to get hay throughout the season instead of waiting until the last cut. Hay is an agricultural product that depends so much on weather—and unfortunately, this year the weather just hasn’t been in our favor since August .

We truly thank all of our loyal customers who continue to support us year after year, as well as our new customers who have joined us this season. We’ll do our very best to reach as many of you as we possibly can.

Thank you for understanding and for supporting local agriculture.
