🇺🇸🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Tips from The Animal Clinic of Poplar Grove 🎆🇺🇸

As we gear up for fireworks, BBQs, and festive fun, don’t forget about your furry friends! The 4th of July can be a scary time for pets, so here are a few important tips to keep them safe and sound:

🐾 Keep pets indoors – Fireworks are loud and unpredictable. Even the calmest pets can get spooked and try to run away. Create a quiet, comfy space where they feel safe.

🐾 ID tags and microchips – Make sure your pet’s ID tags are current and their microchip info is up to date. Lost pets increase significantly around this holiday!

🐾 No people food – Those BBQ scraps and desserts might smell delicious, but many human foods (like onions, chocolate, and alcohol) are toxic to pets.

🐾 Skip the glow sticks – While festive, glow jewelry and sticks can be dangerous if chewed or swallowed.

🐾 Plan ahead – If your pet gets anxious, talk to us about calming options or anxiety medications.

🐾 Sofie’s First Vet Visit! 🐾
Sweet little Sofie had her very first check-up with Dr. Malik today! 🩺✨ At just 11 weeks old and weighing 6.5 lbs, she’s already stealing hearts with those big puppy eyes. Sofie is full of playful energy and loves spending time with her toys. We can’t wait to watch this darling girl grow up happy and healthy! 💕🐾

🐾 Priscilla’s First Vet Visit! 🐾
Tiny but full of s***k, Priscilla had her very first check-up with Dr. Malik today! 🩺✨ At just 14 weeks old and a petite 1.4 lbs, she may be small, but she’s got a big personality! This playful princess loves her toys and brings so much joy with her energy and charm. We can’t wait to see this little diva grow up! 💕🧸
