If you’re celebrating with fireworks, remember that loud noises can be frightening for pets. Keep them safely indoors, ensure they have updated ID tags or microchip information, and provide a quiet, comfortable place where they can feel secure.

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be stressful and frightening for our pets. Take a few simple precautions to help keep your furry family members safe, calm, and secure this Independence Day.

🌡️🐾 Heat Advisory: Keep Your Pets Safe! 🐾🌡️

With dangerously high temperatures expected, please take extra precautions to protect your furry family members.

✅ Keep plenty of fresh, cool water available at all times.
✅ Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening.
✅ Avoid hot pavement—it can burn your pet’s paw pads. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
✅ Never leave your pet in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
✅ Provide shade and air conditioning whenever possible.
✅ Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or collapse.

🐶 Pets at highest risk include:
• Flat faced breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers)
• Senior pets
• Puppies and kittens
• Overweight pets
• Pets with heart or respiratory disease
• Thick coated breeds

🚨 Heatstroke is a medical emergency. If your pet shows signs of overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice cold) water, wet them with cool water, and seek veterinary care immediately.
