Everyone, meet Coal 🐾 🐱. Coal is available for adoption once he is neutered and fully vaccinated. If you would like to meet Coal, please call our clinic today at 815-844-7180.

Coal was rescued in Saunemin as a stray at the fitness center. He had one severe wound on his right ear caused by ear mites. He has a loving personality; he loves belly rubs, playing with his mouse toy, and attention. Coal is FIV positive. Stay tuned for some cute videos of Coal!

FIV Positive in Cats: A cat that is FIV positive has the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, which weakens its immune system, making it more susceptible to other infections, like dental disease or respiratory infections. While there is no cure, many FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy lives with proper care, including keeping them indoors, feeding them a high-quality diet, and providing regular veterinary checkups. The virus is not contagious to humans or dogs.

❤R***r has some news to share: He is heartworm negative! ‼️

R***r came to us in May for his first exam!
During his visit with Dr. Stockwill, we ran a 4Dx heartworm test and it was positive!
He came back for his treatments from July through September.
He was a star patient and loved his snuggle sessions after his injections!
His owner provided him with toys and special treats to keep his mind busy while he rested.
She would be happy to share her experience and why she advocates for monthly prevention!

Does your pet need their heartworm preventative this month?
Call us today to get your pet covered! ❤

Animal Wellness Center of Pontiac

At Animal Wellness Center of Pontiac Our staff will provide the best possible medical care, surgical care and dental care for our highly-valued patients. We are equipped to handle a wide variety of medical conditions, including emergencies. Because we can perform many diagnostic procedures in-house, we can often give you immediate answers and start treating your pet faster.

Our veterinarians provide many surgical services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. Our veterinary team will take precautions to ensure that your pet receives a safe anesthetic. We perform a physical exam and pre-anesthetic testing before surgery, monitor your pet during surgery, and provide pain medication during recovery.

We offer nutrition counseling, because choosing an appropriate diet can set your pet on a path of lifelong good nutrition and help prevent many problems, including allergies, nutritional deficiencies, skin and coat disorders, and obesity.

Our veterinarians are experienced in providing care and treatment for exotic companion animals, including ferrets, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits. We understand their unique health needs and can provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical services, as well as counselling on nutrition, behaviour, and general care.
