A little Dream updateā€¦ and yes, she is still crazy as heck. šŸ˜‚ The calming powder does seem to help, but it certainly hasnā€™t changed who she is at her core.

With that said, I keep hearing that she is one heck of an athlete. Sheā€™s gritty, she has the drive, and she genuinely loves having a job. Sheā€™s also a bull in a china shop, so apparently great athletic ability comes with a few quirksā€¦ or, in Dreamā€™s case, quite a few.

She recently took down the five-foot fence shown in the pictures and managed to cut herself up in the process. Thankfully, sheā€™s healing well, but she was an absolute witch while she couldnā€™t be ridden. She finally went back to work two nights ago and reportedly acted amazingā€”apparently all was right in Dreamā€™s world again once she got to do what she wanted.

Iā€™m incredibly thankful for a trainer KW Equine who is willing to work through her quirks without taking away the confidence, grit and drive that may ultimately make her successful. That means more to me than I can say.

Dream is the only horse Iā€™ve ever purchased as a weanling. I met her when she was just two days old and later picked her out of dozens of weanlings. Thereā€™s a reason I havenā€™t sold her in the four and a half years since.

Did I choose the right one? I guess weā€™ll find out over the next year or two. šŸ˜‚ Either way, sheā€™s a nut, sheā€™s our nut, and we absolutely love her. ā¤ļø

Most people will just see three round bales of hay.

I see years of dreaming.

For as long as I can remember, Iā€™ve dreamed of having a place where our horses could be cared for on land we could call our own. There were so many times it felt impossibly far awayā€¦

But today, our land gave back to us for the very first time.

Just three bales.

To some, thatā€™s not much. To me, itā€™s everything.

These bales represent years of hard work, sacrifices, setbacks, prayers, and refusing to give up. They remind me that dreams arenā€™t built all at once. Theyā€™re built one fence post, one pasture, one horse, one decisionā€¦ and now, one hay bale at a time.

Itā€™s hard to explain why something so simple could bring tears to my eyes, but if youā€™ve ever worked for something your whole life, and start to see it happen, youā€™ll understand.

A very special thank you to Dennis and Darren Schultz. I donā€™t know if youā€™ll ever truly understand what today means to us. Thank you for trusting us and thank you for helping make this milestone possible. These are more than just our first three bales, theyā€™re the beginning of a dream Iā€™ve waited a lifetime to see.

And I think Gypsy, Gigi, Vegas, and Kahlua would like to say thank you too. ā¤ļøšŸ“šŸŒ¾

JoJo is putting in the work one ride at a time, and itā€™s so exciting watching her mature. We still have a lot of miles ahead before her 2027 futurity season, but every little step is building toward that goal.

While trying to take sale photos of Vegas, I took this video of Vegas to show truly how gentle he is. This is him, every day, all day. I pray he gets a great, competitive home. Someone is going to get one very special horse šŸ„° He is electric fence trained and even knows how to drink out of the automatic drinking fountains!
