I was babysitting the brothers who I adopted out this past week. I sent them back home with a couple of my paracord toys. I also had to make a new one for my cat, who is clearly interested in them. (He stole one three times before I could take this picture.)
I've been giving these out for years. It's super simple to make. They're about 6 feet long. I burn one end and tie the "play end" in a knot to let the guts hang loose and be more attractive to the cats. The fake paracord is good enough (don't need real 550 cord) and cheap at Walmart/Lowes/Home Depot.

RIP Fanbelt
He had a heart attack last night. He was the family favorite, for both humans and cats. His new friend, Odin, attempted to comfort and clean him when he died. His best friends, Calvin and Suzie, will miss him.

An unexpected loss this morning. Sharky was in heart failure. She's the last of the full "Big Cat" lineage. She's one of the OG rescues. Barely survived mange when I caught her in 2008 as a kitten. We're going to miss this sassy girl.

Just got a sad phone call... RIP Charlie

We found him in 2017, with a younger female white tabby who he was protective of. He had entropion and he demanded cuddling as part of his treatment. While in rehab, he also became uncle to a litter of foster kittens who belonged to Cowgirl.

From prior experience and talking with the vet, he probably has a brain tumor. He's had ups and downs, but ultimately there's nothing we can do for him.

Yasuke had a broken and cracked fang pulled today, and entropion surgery done. He's got another couple weeks of rehab, meds and a cone before the stitches come out. (Pic is pre surgery.)
Fortunately the mange is cleared up. Hopefully he starts feeling better soon. Poor little dude.

This is Yasuke. He looks A LOT like Ninja (also currently in rehab). He showed up a little over a week ago. Tux & Tortellini tried to run him off because he has mange. We got him fixed at the vet, and got him started on mange treatment. I have also been trying to get ointment in his eyes, because they didn't look great. Fortunately the mange was in very early stages.

He's only tossed his cage twice so far. He's definitely not having fun, but he's feeling and looking better. It's easier and cheaper to treat this with injectable ivermectin, but Big Pharma pays the government to make that increasingly difficult. (This might be getting better soon.)

There is another cat I was calling Yasuke and I thought this was him when I caught him. It's not, so I'll probably call the other one Shinobi because I never caught the cat who I was calling that a few years ago.

Donut got snipped today. Clinic made some odd comments at pick-up. His recovery is rough. Trying to get him to a vet now.

Hoping he pulls through. He's too nice of a cat to deal with this.

This is T4. He has let me pet him briefly before while being distracted with food. He wanted to be petted for about 30 minutes today, at arm's distance.
He's skinny and his teeth don't look good. Time to scoop him up and spend more money at the vet.

Also, I will be putting an Amazon wishlist link for Cat Rescue Supplies in case anyone is able to spare a few dollars and help us out.
