What a cool find! While clearing some brush on my hillside, I came across this very interesting friend 🖤 A legless lizard!!! 😱 After some careful inspection (I unearthed this friend quite accidentally and I wanted to make sure I hadn’t caused injury with my gardening tools), I returned this friend to their hillside home. Really cool to know this lovely neighbor is just outside the back door. I’d never seen one in person before. I hope we cross paths again 🖤

Spring has sprung, and lots of folks are taking to the outdoors with their gecko friends to enjoy the comfortable temperatures and capture some frame-worthy photos. If your outdoor pics aren’t coming out picture perfect, here’s a little guide to help. All of these shots are of the same gecko, but they sure look wildly different! In full sun, this little lady glows like she’s radioactive, and all of her dark pattern is completely washed out. It’s a cool looking picture, and she did enjoy her short time soaking up those natural rays, but this looks absolutely nothing like her in real life. In a shadow, this sweets girl’s colors are super dulled and the camera is pulling all sorts of brown tones that aren’t really there….it’s a pretty blah photo. The photo in partial sun isn’t doing our little girl any favors. With bits of direct sun hitting on her head and legs, she looks blotchy….and it even gives the illusion she’s a bit misshapen. The photo taken in indirect sunlight is the most accurate representation of our lovely girl. With no sunlight hitting directly on her and no shadow cover, we’re able to capture a true-to-color shot of our stunning girl. 💚💚💚

Allow me to introduce you to the beast known as Pissy Moose. She’s a whole lotta lady, and her attitude is just as big as her belly. Pissy has two unique spots…a single white spot on her side and a single yellow spot on her head. Mom was a patternless yellow and dad was a gorgeous red spot/pink base, so there’s some really killer spotting traits floating around in this girl’s genes & she could prove to be a valuable addition to a color spot project. Pissy Moose is difficult to handle. A quick move to a tub for cleaning day is fine. She’s not actively aggressive where she’ll actually try to chase you down. She doesn’t try to bolt from her enclosure when it’s opened. So she’s not impossible. Just difficult. She doesn’t like human contact and if you want to hold her for any amount of time, she’s going to protest. She’ll wiggle, squirm, jump, flatten, stress fire…and yep…she’ll bite you. She bit me right after this photo. It wasn’t enough to even come close to breaking the skin…but just look at her face…I’m sure she wanted to make me bleed. This cricket has been chirping non stop for 36hrs. It’s been echoing through the whole house. I told Mr. Cricket, if you wanna keep playing this little game of FAAFO, you gonna meet my gecko named FAAFO, and you’re gonna find out why he’s named that. Well Mr. Cricket kept on playing, so he met FAAFO, and it took less than a second for him to find out 😂😂😂. And FAAFO is now incredibly satisfied 🤣
