Gone Fishing........................Dr Tyler is taking his first, very deserved, vacation since opening his new clinic so he will not be available from Tuesday, June 17 through Sunday, June 22. Polson Animal Clinic will be open from 8:30 to 5:00 on Tuesday through Friday for medication refills, pet food and boarding drop off and pick up. If you have a pet emergency during this time, please contact another local vet for assistance or bring your pet to Sentinel ER in Missoula.

Santa’s Reindeer Cleared For Arrival in Montana



Helena, Mont. The Montana Department of Livestock has received a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) for Santa’s reindeer, and they are cleared for arrival on rooftops and lawns across Montana for Christmas.

Just like livestock and pets, Santa’s reindeer are also required to meet movement requirements when crossing state and international lines. Fortunately, Rudolph and the entire reindeer team received a clean bill of health from the Alaska State Veterinarian’s Office, having met all disease certifications and identification requirements.

Dr. Szymanski and staff of the state veterinarian’s office reviewed the health certification and issued the required import permit number for toy delivery. It should be no surprise to kids across Montana, Santa and his team will be arriving and departing by air.

“By ensuring the health of all animals entering Montana, our office works to protect the health of Montana’s livestock industry, our pets, and even our residents,” said Tahnee Szymanski, State Veterinarian. “And for this special occasion, we get to ensure the arrival of the magic of Christmas.”

The State Veterinarians Office is responsible for protecting the health of our state’s livestock industry through the administration of disease programs and by monitoring the health of animals imported into Montana.

“The work done by our office would be impossible without the veterinary workforce in communities across the nation,” said Szymanski. “Local veterinarians are the unsung heroes that keep our livestock and pet populations healthy and prevent the movement of disease with pre-movement veterinary inspections.”

Polson Animal Clinic will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday November 27 through Sunday December 1. We will reopen on Monday December 2 at 8:00am. Boarding staff is available for pick up and drop off during these days at 9am and 4pm.

If you have a pet emergency please go to pet emergency in Missoula or Kalispell.
