To all of our Golden Dreams Kennel Family: I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you all how blessed Robert and I were to have crossed paths with each of you. Owning a kennel and raising well socialized and healthy puppies was always a dream of mine. Robert supported me on that dream and made it happen. Each of you who have one of our puppies made that dream happen. Today for the first time in over 13 years our kennel and our backyard are empty. Loosing Robert unexpectedly 3 months ago left me with many hard decisions to make. One of those decisions was what to do with the kennel and the dogs. I just couldn’t continue to do it on my own. The dogs deserved more than I alone could give them. I was always the first person to say that pets were a lifetime commitment but now I realize that sometimes that isn’t always the best for the pets. I had to take myself out of the equation and decide what was best for our dogs. Goldens901 is a nonprofit rescue for Golden Retrievers that has been such a blessing for me and our Goldens. My dogs lived in a nice kennel by most standards but when I saw pictures of Piper and Matilda curled up on couches and beds I knew I had made the right decision and that was exactly the life the dogs deserved.
This chapter has come to a bittersweet end. I hope each of you will still send me pictures and updates of all our previous puppies. That would make my heart happy. Selfishly- I ask that each of you pray for me and our family. The last few months have been the hardest our family has ever faced. We have been blessed with so many people who have gone above and beyond for us. To each of you - we Thank you for being a part of our journey.

This year for my Birthday I am asking all my friends and family to make a donation to Goldens901 in Memory of Robert Browder who’s Birthday would have been August 7th and my Birthday which is August 9th. This amazing nonprofit organization is a rescue that helps find the best family/home for Golden Retrievers that need to be rehomed. They are helping me find homes for our dogs since I can no longer handle the kennel by myself. It broke my heart to let them go but they are living amazing lives due to Goldens901. So this was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. After loosing Robert I knew my life was forever changed. After much discussion with my family, many prayers and lots of tears, I decided that I just can’t do Golden Dreams Kennel on my own. I can’t do it physically after my knee replacement last year. I can’t do it emotionally because my heart is broken and the kennel/dogs/raising puppies was something Robert and I did together. I can’t financially afford to feed/care for and vet 6 large dogs after loosing part of our household income. When I had to have Honey put down the week after loosing Robert- I knew I had to let them go. I found a wonderful rescue in Memphis - Goldens901. Debbie has been a lifesaver. The dogs will be fostered by their amazing volunteers and then adopted out. I wanted the dogs to have the best life and I truly believe this is the answer. My life long friend Lisa Whatley Pearson came over Thursday evening and we bathed the girls. Friday my sister in law Mandy Cox Forman helped me load them up and take them to Memphis to start their new journey. I left there with tears in my eyes but also happiness in my heart knowing that great things lie ahead for these wonderful dogs. Three of the dogs - Noel, Piper and Matilda left on Friday. The other three will leave in the next two to three weeks. I am a firm believer that dogs are a lifetime commitment but I also know that sometimes we have to look beyond ourselves and put what is best for all involved as priority . The kennel was a lifetime dream of mine that with the help of my family we put our heart and soul into for the last 12 years. We have puppies all over the United States. We have service and therapy dogs changing lives that got their start in our home. Saying goodbye to this dream is really hard. I hope you will pray for me as I adjust. I hope the friendship we have made as a result of the dogs will continue. I want you to still send me updates on those wonderful fur babies! Love to you all …. Angie
