Tessie x Jesse James litter. Due to cage space they weren't separated until today and they are 8 weeks old. I believe the Amber and Castor are harlequinized.

Also looked at Viva's two kits. They are 3 months old and small, in my opinion. But...they have been together up to this point and their cage doesn't have a feeder, just bowls so they haven't had a full feeder in front of them. The buck is available, he's an ounce shy of 4lbs. He is $40. He does have fantastic fur! Lovely type too, he just isn't going to make it on the show list.

Finally done tattooing Birch's litter. Looked over the babies, but haven't completely decided on who is leaving. There are a few that look better. None look terrible. It's sometimes hard to get good pictures and hold them at the same time. 9 and 11 are most likely staying for a bit. But I do like the look of the brindles too lol.
I'll make a definitive decision in a couple weeks.

Daisy, our black NZ had 9 and looks like blue, black and broken. That makes 2 litters of New Zealands, 5 litters of Rex in the barn.

Got some of Birch's litter tattooed. Ugh. Out of all the rabbit tasks I hate tattooing the most. I have a wrap but these guys are between needing the smaller wrap and the medium one so it's a little bug. They can still squirm and I don't think the tattoos turn out good. It's just aggravating.
I tried breeding Phoebe to Franklin but she wasn't lifting. I thought the cooler temps this morning would help. Also tried breeding Viva to Huckleberry since she neglected her last litter, no luck.
Miss Daisy, our black NZ is hay stashing. In the corner instead of the box because why not lol. She gets a free pass because it's her first time.
I included pictures of the 4 I did tattoo. The tricolor doe might be sticking around for the fall show. Tricolor buck will be available. The brindle might be available but going to look at them again.

This is why we breed more than one doe at a time and try to breed a proven doe along with a first timer. Deelight had 9, we noticed one was thinner so we fostered it to Twitch. Today, I saw that Viva wasn't feeding her 5 kits because 3 had already died. I put her surviving two in Twitch's nest box. Twitch has 7 of her own and I have no doubt she will raise her 3 fosters. These good moms are a lifesaver.
