South Shore Equine Clinic & Diagnostic Center is hiring an Inventory Manager for our hospital team. This is not your typical inventory position. We’re looking for someone who can keep our medical supplies organized and stocked and jump in to help care for hospitalized horses, assist veterinarians during appointments, and run bloodwork in our in-house lab.

So yes… we know we’re looking for a bit of a unicorn: someone who loves organization, veterinary medicine, and horses all at the same time. But we know those people exist.

🐴 Foaling season has officially arrived at South Shore Equine Clinic! 🐴

There’s nothing quite like the first 24 hours of a new life. This sweet foal was born right here in our hospital and is already up, nursing, and keeping mom on her toes while Dr. Carlson keeps a close watch.

Those early hours matter more than most owners realize. Newborn foals go through rapid physical changes, build immunity from colostrum, and can look perfectly normal even when something isn’t quite right. Careful monitoring, a thorough newborn exam, and quick intervention when needed can make all the difference in giving them the best start possible.

Whether your mare is due next week or later this spring, planning ahead helps prevent late-night panic and gives your foal a safer arrival into the world. We’re here for normal deliveries, high-risk mares, newborn exams, and all those “Is this normal?” questions.

🐴 We’re Hiring: Equine Veterinary Support Assistant (Part-Time) 🩺

Do you love horses and people?

South Shore Equine Clinic & Diagnostic Center is looking for a motivated, dependable team member to join us in a unique hybrid role that combines hands-on veterinary support with client service and communication.

This is a great opportunity for someone with real barn experience who wants to grow their career in equine medicine while staying actively involved in patient care.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll work alongside our veterinarians both in the hospital and on the road while also helping guide clients through their horse’s care.

Patient Care & Technical Skills
• Assist with exams and treatments (in-clinic & ambulatory)
• Care for hospitalized horses
• Handle horses safely, including loading/unloading
• Process lab samples & maintain records
• Help manage medical inventory
• Support facility and equipment upkeep

Client Service & Communication
• Communicate with clients by phone, text, and email
• Help owners understand treatments and plans
• Document medical records in our software

Schedule:

📅 Part-time
Monday, Thursday, Friday + 1 out of 4 Saturday mornings
(Optional technical on-call opportunities available)
