I’m trying an experiment with Hexie. I’ve been looking for a good tracking collar for her for a while. Hexie and Summer free range on my property with me while I’m out working in the field or with the chickens, etc. Summer won’t let me out of her eyesight, but sometimes Hexie’s nose entices her on an unplanned adventure…
I’ve gone back and forth trying to decide between Tractive, Halo, Fi, and Spot On. Finances, subscription requirements, accuracy, battery charge, user friendliness, and other things are all things I’ve considered. I’ve talked to people who have used each of these products and they all had good reviews. Because of this, I have struggled to make a decision, so Costco made it for me.
Costco has the Fi Series 3+ with a 14 month subscription plan included for $149 right now, so I pulled the plug and bought one for Hexie. Yesterday was her first full day of wearing it, so I don’t have an opinion of it yet, other than it seems to track a crazy amount of things, including itching/scratching, licking, sleeping/sleep disturbances, barking, eating/drinking, and activity levels. You can also post photos and videos of your dog on their profile page. It’s like a doggie instagram. I kind of love it 😂
But the point of this post is to bring awareness to just how busy Hexie is. Dan is working nightshift this week, so he slept all day. These are Hexie’s steps between the hours of when I got home and when I put her in her pre-bedtime bath…
She took more steps just running around while I did chores than I have taken all week. That’s insane.
