🐾❤️Some adoptions are just meant to be, written in the stars, fated to happen…that’s exactly what happened with Jane (now Maisie! 🥰).
About a month ago, Tim, one of our foster dads, was delivering groceries near Watauga Lake. He met a sweet lady who mentioned she was looking for another dog. Tim told her he and his wife fostered rescue dogs and came home saying what a wonderful home she would make.
His wife didn’t think much of it. After all, lots of people say they want a dog but never follow through.
But little did they know, something special was unfolding. ❤️
A few weeks later, HERO received an app for Jane, a dog who had been in foster care for OVER a year.
After talking with the applicant, our foster mom Katrina just KNEW she was the one. The lady had lost her husband five years earlier and her beloved dog shortly afterward. She was finally ready to open her heart to another companion.
When Katrina told Tim about Jane’s potential adopter, he stopped her and said, “Let me guess, she lives past Watauga Lake?” Then he told her the woman’s NAME!
IT WAS THE SAME LADY HE HAD DELIVERED GROCERIES TO! 😳❤️
And here’s what makes this story so special…
Tim had NEVER told her which rescue they fostered for or shown her any dogs. This lady had gone on Petfinder herself, looked through countless dogs, and fallen in love with JANE! 😍
Of all the dogs needing homes, she chose one being fostered by the very family she’d crossed paths with weeks earlier!
When Tim and his wife took Jane to meet her, the lady immediately recognized Tim! She’d even saved his number in her phone as “Kevin Dog” because she thought his name was Kevin! 😂
And Jane? She walked into that home and connected with her new mom like she’d lived there all along. ❤️
Jane is now MAISIE, and she’s finally living the beautiful life she deserves! 🏡🐾
Maisie’s journey began at animal control, where she and Martha, believed to be her mother, were surrendered with litters of puppies. Thanks to HERO Hounds, and a loving foster family, they were given a second chance.
It’s moments like these that remind us how beautifully life can work out. We can’t help but feel that something other worldly was at the center of it all. 🙌
Sometimes fostering doesn’t just change an animal’s life. It brings comfort, companionship, and love to someone who needs it just as much.
