This little lady was found wandering around the Sheriff's Office near East St. and E. Locust.

She is full of milk and likely had puppies recently. If you are or know the owner please contact the Plattsburg Police Department.

One of our residents has been put on a wet food / soft food diet restriction to aid in his digestion issues.

Imagine the story you can tell your rescue of how you adopted them, and brought them home, and found them a safe place to live and play!

Imagine coming home each day and being greeted by a fuzzy face that waits for you hour by hour just to show you how much love they have for you!

Imagine the number of times you can tell that story over and over and over again!

When was the last time you checked your pet's microchip info? Is their microchip active and all the information up to date?

If you have moved or changed phone numbers- be sure to update your account.

Check your microchip subscription plan- some companies charge an annual fee and it it's been awhile- you may need to update your billing information.

Rescues and vets have come across many animal with microchips who have not been registered, information is not up to date, or status inactive. It takes exponentially longer for us to try to track down an owner.

Missing Since 7/15 in Cameron, MO near 8th and Ensign trace.
He is microchipped and that information is up-to-date, including his current missing status.

Friends and Followers! 🐾🐾🐾

Our area is under an☀️EXCESSIVE HEAT☀️warning and we ask that you pay special attention to your pets in the coming days!

Check your sidewalk temps; if you can't hold your hand on the concrete to a count of 3, it's too hot to walk your dog!

If you can walk your dog BEFORE 8 AM or AFTER 8 PM that is the BEST as it's not during peak hours for the HEAT

Enrichment activities are recommended and limited outside playtime is encouraged.

Hydrate not only your pets, hydrate YOURSELF as well!

The sunshine is great, but not worth you or your pet's health!

Check on friends and neighbors with pets to make sure they are well taken care of (both human and animal).

Weather safety is MOST IMPORTANT for a happy and healthy pet!

Our Mission

In January 2019 Plattsburg Pound Puppies was created and has served Plattsburg and Clinton County by caring for stray, abandoned, and lost dogs.

Our mission is to prevent the abandonment of dogs in the City of Plattsburg by accepting surrendered dogs from anywhere within Clinton County with the intent of re-homing these dogs at no taxpayer cost through volunteers operating the shelter supported by the City of Plattsburg.
