To gaze upon an Akhal-Teke is to witness living history and artistry which transcends over 3,000 years of horse culture, campaigns, wars, and triumphs. As a tribute and record of some of the most influential individuals in the breed since 1870, the Science and Art Museum of Horse Breeding at the Russian State Agrarian University has built an impressive collection of highly-detailed Akhal-Teke art portraits. These portraits show not only the spread of beauty and types within the breed, but their display serves to preserve historical breeding and to inform modern breeding direction--from some of highest performing and commended horses of the last 150 years.

A principal officer of the museum and publisher of the internationally praised almanac "AKHAL-TEKE inform", Yulia Kuznetsova, described portraits featured in the gallery for the "Turkmenistan" magazine. Her full write-up can be read in English at the links below:

❤️🔥 Join us June 6th, 2026 for our Heart of the Fire Horse Clinic Series: Part One “Return to Your Center: Guided by the Insights of Horses” with Master Equine Gestaltist Elisabeth Denizot. Hosted by Arcana Heritage Horses in Platteville, CO.

This will be a five hour experiential workshop in partnership with horses. Participants will engage in embodied processes that explore emotional patterns, restore clarity, and deepen awareness through direct experience. Individual deep pieces may occur, but the primary focus is shared learning and reflection through interactions with both the group and the horses.

About our clinician Elisabeth Denizot:

After experiencing the profound impact of working with horses during a difficult period in her professional life, Elisabeth Denizot became a Master Equine Gestaltist and founded Nurturing Strides. Today she guides women through experiential processes in partnership with horses, where participants release emotional patterns, restore clarity, and reconnect with a renewed sense of direction. Learn more about Elisabeth and how Nurturing Strides can support your journey here: https://nurturingstrides.com/

Registration is $250/person for the day with lunch included. No horse experience needed! Only an open mind and a willing heart.

During the clinic day, we will also have a short presentation and meet-and-greet of our rare Akhal-Teke horses–a breed which has endured since the very beginnings of equestrianism. They are an ancient breed carrying millenia of human-horse stories and greatly influenced early humanity. The Akhal-Teke has also been called a “fire horse” due to its natural metallic coat and warrior nature, so they are the perfect horse for the occasion.

Amazing horsewoman Kayla driving a Chaar Appaloosa herd in Kyrgyzstan! 💪🏔️ To check on and move the herds, riders on Chaar horses often must ride out all day to remote locations in all weather. On this drive alone, they covered 60km in one day. These are hardy, resilient horses with a very strong work ethic that developed this way since ancient times to meet the needs of high mountain nomadic peoples. And they still live this way today.

In this clip you can also see expression of the "shuffle" gait carried in this breed that makes them very comfortable and efficient over distance.

❤️🔥 Announcing our first clinic series! “Heart of the Fire Horse: A Passion, Presence, and Power Clinic Series”, hosted by Arcana Heritage Horses.

This is an educational and self-empowerment clinic series for horse humans to embrace the heart of the horse in the “Year of the Fire Horse”. The horse is not only capable of being our companion and partner, but is a spiritual being who mirrors and teaches us. With a horse, we are invited to be present, challenged to channel our energy, and called to speak with our hearts. With the Fire Horse, we are empowered to innovate, embrace our passions, and undergo energetic transformation to align deeper with our dreams. In this 5-part series, we will explore new ways of co-creating with the Horse to breathe new life into your equine journey.

Each part of this series has been thoughtfully designed to honor the spirit of the horse and their timeless wisdom in collaboration with horse-centric educators. For more than 3,000 years, the horse-human relationship has shaped worlds and guided our shared evolution. The story of the horse is really the story of us. In this series, we welcome the insight of 5 different clinicians who have opened their hearts to the horse and who wish to invite you to rediscover the horse with them.

❥ Part One: June 6th - “Return to Your Center: Guided by the Insights of Horses” with Master Equine Gestaltist Elisabeth Denizot (no horse knowledge required)

❥ Part Two: June 20th - “Navigating Obstacles Through Play and Partnership” with Horse Agility Accredited Trainer and World Champion Kim Gieseke (open to all levels)
