RESCUE PLEA — TWO-TONE A2494818- Blind Senior

Two-Tone is a gentle 14-year-old, intact male, weighing only 10.4 lbs, who was surrendered after his owner was permanently hospitalized. He arrived in extremely poor condition and is in critical need of medical support and a safe place to rest.

Upon intake, Two-Tone was found severely flea-infested, underweight, and suffering from significant hair loss, crusted skin, and heavy matting along his hind end. His initial exam revealed:

• Pale gums & delayed CRT
• Bradycardia
• Moderate dental disease
• Complete blindness (dense bilateral cataracts, no. menace or tracking)
• Likely deafness
• Frail body condition with altered mentation — constant barking, circling, and confusion

Labwork findings:
• Moderate regenerative anemia — likely secondary to flea burden
• Mild stress leukogram
• Electrolyte abnormalities related to dehydration
• Low TT4 most consistent with euthyroid sick syndrome given his debilitated state

Despite all this, Two-Tone is ambulatory, but very fragile and disoriented.

Because of his age, blindness, deafness, anemia, dermatologic disease, and potential underlying endocrine issues, Two-Tone is not a safe candidate for anesthesia. He needs continued medical stabilization, comfort care, warmth, nutrition, and the gentle support of a calm environment.

PRC is urgently seeking rescue placement so this sweet senior can spend whatever time he has remaining safe, comfortable, and loved.

His prospects for adoption inside a shelter are extremely limited due to his extensive medical needs, and he simply cannot thrive here.

Two-Tone deserves to know peace, relief from suffering, and quiet companionship in his final chapter.

Always needs repeating…I still see varies places people are advertising a free pet …

This came up on my feed... worth repeating!

Please stop giving free dogs away. This pup didn't deserve the two weeks of torture as a bait dog that he received. Please stop putting your pets on Facebook and Craigslist. These are hotspots for people looking for baitdogs and cats. -------Thank you again for sharing and getting the word out.
