It’s very rare to work with a dog of this caliber. After going through the hands of several other “Trainers” who immediately went into bite work, Gunner is pretty confused as to what is expected of him. I’m excited to see where this dog will go with the right guidance!

Have to apologize and make sure everyone’s aware, I’m not selling any apparel, and no one’s doing it on my behalf. If you get tagged by someone advertising anything with my logo on it, it’s a scam. I’m pretty quick to delete them and ban them, but just be aware.
Mando for attention.

This sweet boy Oliver is looking for his forever home. Oliver is a 6 month old Male Pit Mix. He was originally obtained to help a disabled elderly parent, which unfortunately didn’t work out. Oliver is extremely friendly, has lots of energy and is good around small and large dogs.
If interested in adopting Oliver please contact us at 813-997-4050

I shared a review from Gus’s owner a couple days ago. I want to clarify, I tell all of my clients to wait to post a review until they’ve had their dog back for a couple weeks. I do this for one reason. When I return their dog, they’re tuned in. The obedience is solid and they look great, WITH ME. The training isn’t finished at that point. The handler then has the responsibility of taking that foundation and building on it. Your dog never stops learning, whether it be bad or good. This client takes that sentiment very seriously and as a result, is enjoying tremendous results months after the board and train. I get woken up almost daily to a message about a new milestone they achieved together. This is the type of thing that keeps me going.

Fashionably moppy ….. believe it or not, there’s a purpose to this. It’s just never looked this good.

Toby came to me through the “doodle” network. His excited behavior is wreaking havoc in the home. Just 4 weeks to transformation and a restoration of order at home.

12/07/2021
Notice the patch of fur missing on the nose. Gus, has been in a muzzle every time he’s been out of the house or around new people. He’s not exactly “approachable”. His owner is committed to getting Gus public accessible, and that’s all I need to take an interest.

Homeward bound with Kango. Finished with his 4 weeks of training and eager to tell me goodbye.

Covid gave us a minor social media setback but we were still out here making pups do all the good things! Meet Duke, Oakley, Max and Bella. Duke and Oakley needed the ‘puppyness’ brought down a notch. While Max and Bella just needed a calm environment to learn some basic obedience.
Max and Bella are both up for adoption currently.

Grizzy is a 1.5 year old hound mix (he’s a Curr). We’re working on leash pulling, socialization, and impulse control. Grizzy is the first dog for his owner and we have a lot of foundation to build, but he’s responsive and ready to work.

08/20/2021
Macy’s a 6 month old Weimaraner. Lots of puppy energy running unopposed. We’re going to get a healthy dose of obedience and behavior shaping to ensure Macy fits in at home.

08/17/2021
This pretty much says it all. She was on the path to adoption and one negative experience, resulted in one undesirable behavior, which landed Bella on the list to be put down. I do my best to not bash any person or organization doing their best to do the right thing in this industry. So, I won’t talk about ending a dog’s life because training would be too expensive or difficult.
I will do this, however. I didn’t catch the email from the shelter. I didn’t make several trips to the shelter every week so I’d know when I saw the email, that dog didn’t need to be put down. I also certainly didn’t drive across 2 counties to pick her up and bring her here at a moment’s notice. Jessica at Stranger Days Street Dog Rescue Corp. did that. Please remember, there are rescues out there doing far more than me or anyone else to keep dogs alive long enough for someone to give them a chance.

A little behind on our Welcome photos and social media. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. Apollo the Boxer and Leo the Staffordshire Terrier have been here for a few weeks and are getting along great!
Apollo came to camp to work on some 6 month old puppy issues, like counter surfing and dashing out the door.
Leo’s a little older and just wanted to pull his owners all over the Earth and chase lizards. Typical independence from an over-indulged terrier. He came with some dog-reactivity and now wants nothing more than to play in groups.

Fashionably moppy ….. believe it or not, there’s a purpose to this. It’s just never looked this good.

Goofing off with Rigs. . . . #dogtraining #dogtrainer #dogtrainersofinstagram #malinoisofinstagram #malinois #dogsofinstagram #veteranownedbusiness #patriot

To start, I’d like to thank everyone for their referrals and remind you all.... I also train small breeds. Unrelated.... this is a 100 lb. Rottie named Chase. He isn’t bad, really. He’s 100 pounds And young And 100 pounds Should be fun. . . . #dogtrainer #dogtraining #rottie #rottiesofinstagram #rottielove #veteranowned #dogsofinsta #dogsofinstagram #patriot

For this trick, Badge will make a French fry disappear. Actually, the trick is no trick at all. It’s marker training, and every dog who comes through my program gets it. . . . #malinois #malinoisofinstagram #malinoislovers #k9 #dogtraining #dogtrainer #dogtrainersofinstagram #veteranowned #veteranownedbusiness #patriot

Shaping through luring and leash pressure, charging the marker, positive reinforcement and repeating.... and repeating... and repeating... If I didn’t have the videos as proof that I’m changing clothes, I’d have a pretty solid Groundhog Day theory. . . . @patriotcanineservices

Bucket!
The Potters were fascinated with my “dog on a bucket” video. After I finished training Maya, I showed them how to take what she knows and teach the behavior themselves. Like anyone else, I let people get in my head and I start to doubt myself sometimes. Getting a random message from your client at 9 pm that says, “She did the bucket”, with an attached video as proof...... was exactly the affirmation I needed. Proud teacher/trainer moment. Thank you Potters! She did the bucket!!!!

Getting started with Yuki! Charging the marker, luring into positions, and focus building. The sound is on, so you can see there’s no verbal communication happening in the beginning.

Ziggy’s been working on all of this in a sterile environment. No other people, dogs, or things to look at. Now I take the place board, something he’s familiar with, and put it in a new environment with new animal odor, people talking nearby, and vehicle traffic on the other side of the wall. The goal here, is he ignores the new distractions to interact with me instead, and shows me the familiarity with the place board in a new environment. . . . #dogtraining #dogtrainer #goldenretriever #goldenretrieversofinstagram #offleashtraining #offleashlife #veteranownedbusiness #patriot @cland329 @ecollartechnologies

Luring is a great way to communicate new behaviors to the dog. Once they understand the task of following the food, they can be guided into desired positions, locations, elevations... limitless possibilities. Maya picked it up in the twilight hours. I don’t choose when they figure it out. I just hit record when I see it. . . . #dogtrainer #dogtraining #gsdofinstagram #gsd #veteranownedbusiness #patriot @cland329 @projectk9hero

It’s been a crazy week. Maya came to me a few days ago because she likes chasing things. Those things usually don’t like being chased, so we’re going to teach her some other, more rewarding behaviors. She also greets people like this, and that’s just too much work for everyone. 🇺🇸

Mando getting out into the world and showing off what he’s been working on. Possibly one of the goodest of boys. It’s not magic. It’s consistent reps and reinforcement.

This is my 7 year old daughter walking Mando. The leash is attached to his flat collar, which I’ve been using to pair leash pressure with e-collar pressure over the past week. Because we took our time and paired the collars correctly, Mando is excited and happy to let this tiny human lead him around. It isn’t perfect yet, but we’re just getting started. Walking the dog shouldn’t come with stress, anxiety, or trips to the emergency room.

Since I can’t post two videos at once, check the comments for Mando’s arrival video or just take my word for it when i say, he had no idea what leash pressure was supposed to mean. It was made the afternoon I picked him up, so he’s wearing the type of collar he’s accustomed to, a correction chain. You can see the collar’s purpose is lost, and Mando is more than comfortable with that amount of pressure, even if it means the person holding the other end of the line isn’t having the best time. I told the owner I’d work on eliminating the correction collar and having Mando walking politely on a flat collar. In the main video filmed on his third day, you’ll see Mando responding to leash pressure, leaving a loose lead, and remaining closer to me in the presence of another person and a passive dog (competing motivators). This was Mando’s first exposure to another dog while walking on leash since arriving. Mando is the only dog in his home and he has not been socialized with other animals. Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue to reinforce the desirable behaviors and snuff out the undesirables while keeping that stubby tail moving and making friends.

This is Rigs. He’s been here a few weeks for Board and Train, drive building, and environmental conditioning. He’ll be available for purchase once he’s ready. This dog brings a ton of ignition and responds well to pressure, but is very social and clear headed. I brought the bucket out last night while I had him out to break and he immediately started to engage with it. It was too dark to catch last night, but we picked it back up this morning with some day light.
