A neighboring County passed a new ban. 😾 Renko Animal Rescue stands firmly against LaSalle County’s ban on feeding feral cats!

This policy is not only inhumane but counterproductive.⛔️ Feeding feral cats is a critical part of responsible Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, which reduce populations, improve community health, and prevent suffering.

Denying animals access to food does not make them disappear—it only increases illness, desperation, and needless suffering. We strongly urge county officials to reconsider this harmful ban and work with your local rescue groups, veterinarians, and community members to support humane, effective, and evidence-based solutions for managing feral cat populations.

We encourage residents to reach out to their county representatives to voice their concerns!

A friend approached us about her son’s Eagle Scout Project idea & today his idea & all of the work he put into fundraising & building it became reality♥️ One of only a very few free standing microchip stations in the state was put into place today at the Bolingbrook Animal Control site located at 145 Royce Road, Bolingbrook.
Now if someone finds a lost animal & is not comfortable going into animal control or having contact with animal control staff or police, or if it is after hours or even during operating business hours & the staff is out taking calls, you can bring the animal & scan it for a microchip yourself🐾 There are directions inside the box next to the scanner on how to use the scanner & a QR code on the sign on top or in the packet inside that will bring you to a microchip lookup database that will give you the microchip company & contact info. Make a call & the company can contact the owners. There’s even a motion sensor light to turn on in case youre there at night so you can see what youre doing!💜 The more convenient & comfortable we can make it for people to scan lost & found animals, the quicker they can be reunited♥️The work put into making this happen was immense on Connor’s part, but we were honored he thought of us & helping animals as his project idea. We also had a little fun loving on some of the dogs there while the concrete was drying. Bonus 🥰. Thank you again to Connor & those that supported him in achieving this. We think it will be a great resource for the community & people that care about the animals in it & we are grateful he picked us♥️🐾💜
