My name is Kimberly Waugus and I have been training dogs professionally for 15 years and have been involved in rescue work for over 20 years. I moved to Plainfield in June, 2017 to semi-retire after having run a full-time and very success dog training business (Dodge County Canine) in Beaver Dam for over 10 years. My credentials:
Past member of Green Acres Boxer Rescue and board member for over 15 years
Past Animal Care Manager at Elmbrook Humane Society and Director of Dodge County Humane Society
Instructor for Animal Behavior College and CATCH Canine Trainers Academy
Member of the administrative rules committee for Act 90 - the WI Dog seller’s law
The field of animal behavior science is ever changing so I continue to attend seminars and workshops to advance my knowledge and skills to better help my clients. My goal is to teach my clients foundation skills so they can work with and communicate with their dog(s) more effectively.
Because of my experiences and education, I have extensive knowledge in dealing with dogs with behavior problems such as aggression, separation anxiety, general anxiety, etc. I work with owners to modify the dog's behavior through training, education, environment management, and behavior modification techniques.
I am a force free trainer and use positive methods when working with dogs. I prefer to reward what the dog does correctly and ignore the undesired results. That doesn't mean there aren’t rules though! I continue to learn about dog behavior and new training methods through reading, workshops and seminars. Visit my website for more information about me.
