Spot light on my special girl Essence. Words can not express fully my love for this mare. This is the horse who has been there for me through it all. She was my best friend and greatest confidant especially during my teenage years. I've owned her since she was almost 3(except for a handful of years while I served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints and the first few years of my marriage), but she was born on my grandma's ranch. From the very first time I saw her I was in LOVE. My parents decided I was too young and inexperienced to have a young horse. A little over two years later, my father saw her for sale on KSL and surprised me with her. When he brought her home and I opened the trailer door I burst into tears. I couldn't believe my eyes!! We were inseparable, we rode countless miles and countless hours in the mountains and in the arena where we competed in 4H. She's the horse who helped me develop confidence in myself, and become the horse woman I am today. She earned the sarcastic nickname from my father "the goddess horse" because she could never do any wrong (at least in my eyes) and I would CONSTANTLY talk about her. I always day dreamed about having my own children and watching them learn to ride on her. The last few years those dreams have come to fruition as my two boys have been born. I am extremely blessed to have such an amazing horse. I can't wait for you to meet her or your children to meet her, I'm sure you'll fall in love with her gentle disposition just as I did all those years ago when she was only 10 days old.
