A little over a year ago, Alan accepted a full time position with the ANG at Volk Field. He has always been willing to serve and commit his time wherever needed. He helps in many areas and locations. He was awarded this weekend the 2024 NCO of the year for Volk Field and will credit his team for this recognition. The military is our family and we can't tell you how much we appreciate all the love and support we receive. Truly humbling.

Today's episode of Hughes Humor...

When you take your son to try out for the community play and he convinces you to try out for the heck of it. And the next day you are informed you were cast as Mr. Fezziwig🤣

We are so incredibly proud of Alan and Gavin, who were both cast in the Pittsville Community play "The Christmas Carol ". After only 4 weeks of practice, they performed 3 shows on Friday and Saturday. It was an amazing production and most importantly they had so much fun. Kudos and thank you to all those who had a hand in directing and creating such an interesting show. The dudes are hooked and can't wait to get involved in the next production.

We farm for them but it's even better farming with them. Our dudes are involved in the daily grind day in and day out. Yesterday was one of those long grinding but rewarding days. And I can't say enough about how much they helped us! We were scheduled to classify(phenotypic evaluation of the cows) in the afternoon and we worked together to shake up bedding, sweep and scrape up the barn, feed, and wash the cows. I clipped them earlier in the week. It was a great day and especially doing it together!

Today's episode of Hughes Humor 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Dear Miss S,
I want to sincerely apologize again for Lil D's "natural" scent. I seriously did a happy dance last night because I surprisingly got Lil D to bed early. Well that back fired, he was ready for school and outside in the barn with me at 5:30am this morning, fyi 2 hours before the bus arrives. I will definitely wash his hands and be sure his boots are hosed off before he gets on the bus. And I will try to whipe off all calf slobber, cow hair and straw. I was able to occupy him for a few minutes in the barn office reading a farm magazine. That lasted about 5 minutes, he told me they need to put in more cool farm pictures. He is definitely my farm boy, thank you for understanding. 🐮🛻🚜
