Welcome Just4Birds to AFA!

Robin and Georgia recently stopped by Just4Birds during their travels bringing the AFA Legislative Awareness Workshops across the country. These in-person visits are a wonderful reminder of how important local bird businesses, aviculturists, educators, and advocates are to the future of aviculture.

Today feels like the perfect day to finally share this news with our community. We have been so busy behind the scenes, but this milestone is far too important not to share with the people who have supported us every step of the way, since day one!!

Earlier this year, our small rescue took a huge step forward by becoming official, BUT becoming “official” does not change who we are, it simply protects and strengthens the work we have always done.

This transition was never rushed. We made the intentional decision to move forward thoughtfully and do things the right way, investing in professional guidance to ensure everything was handled ethically and responsibly with our mission at the center of every decision because our birds, adopters, supporters, and community deserve nothing less.

With that being said, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to our incredible accountants for helping make this possible. A very special thank you to the entire McGowin team for standing beside us from day one, answering my countless questions and emails with so much patience, kindness, and support. This transition felt overwhelming at times, but you made the process feel smooth and far less stressful. We are deeply grateful for everything you have done and for continuing to walk alongside us as we grow into this next chapter.

Thank you for believing in us, standing beside us, and growing with us on this incredible journey. What started with one family, one home, and a whole lot of love has grown into something so meaningful and special, and now, we are a community of 20,409 followers… WOW!

Our next rescue spotlight shines on a facility full of love and care, Kiki's Legacy Parrot Foundation in North Carolina
KiKi’s Legacy is more than a rescue. It is a sanctuary for parrots whose lives have not always been filled with kindness, understanding, or stability. We primarily focus on Macaws and Cockatoos — the loud, the loving, the broken, the misunderstood, and the forgotten. We embrace them all.
The Tour will be stopping at Kiki’s Legacy Parrot Foundation on July 31, 2026
