1332 adoptions! Dexy + Bambi, Eden, and Ramsey all got adopted!

We are so excited for both Dexy and Ramsey who are considered “hard to adopt”.

Dexy was with us for a few months without any interest! We’re not sure if it’s because he was shy at first, FIV+, needed a cat friend, or all of the above. Either way, we’re so glad he finally got adopted with a buddy!

Ramsey’s adoption was like a fairy tale! It was truly love at first sight just minutes after he arrived. Even though he’s 12 years old and shy, his adopter gravitated towards him and they clicked. We love to see a senior cat get the love and attention they deserve!

Happy tales to all these adopters and their new best friends 💖

Sylvan and Ziggy 🤎🤎
Have not had anybody inquire about them yet…they are both cute as can be but they are not social butterfly’s🦋 so they tend to be overlooked. They LOVE each other and can most often be found snuggling inside/behind a bench at The Black Cat Market. Both of these handsome boys were brought to us by the same amazing community partner. Ziggy was on deaths door and extremely underweight. He was at Frankie’s for months while we fought to get him healthy. It’s a HARD life of the streets and we are SO very thankful he pulled through! He’s more than doubled his weight and he and Sylvan are officially good to go with clean bills of health ❤️
While they are shy they DO love getting loved on and pet…we think they will really blossom in a calmer home and come out of their shells 🐚 🐢
The cherry 🍒 on top??! An amazing previous adopter and her equally awesome mom fell In love with them and sponsored BOTH of their adoption fees. All that’s left now is for someone to go visit them at the Black Cat Market, fall in love and then email Frankie’s!

Meet Smith!

Smith is a 1 year old black and white male tuxedo cat.

I have been mistakenly labeling Smith as “shy”. It turns out he’s not really shy, he just LOVES this donut bed. It usually has the lid on so you can’t see him. He cuddles in donut bed all day, usually with another kitty or two.

However, if you reach in and pet Smith or open his donut, he is the cuddliest little wiggle worm! He loves being petted and will even give you tiny kisses all over your hand. It’s so cute!!!!

Smith would do best in a home with another cat to cuddle. He especially likes Paris and Raven, two other cats available for adoption here.

Smith is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV-/FELV-, dewormed, and up to date on flea preventative.

My cat Raven (not to be confused with the cafe cat Raven) is a big fan of books! He loves cuddling up and reading with me.
He wanted me to tell you about our next Book Club book and meeting!

📚 We will be reading Open Throat by Henry Hoke.
About the novel: “A q***r and dangerously hungry mountain lion lives in the drought-devastated land under the Hollywood sign. Lonely and fascinated by humanity’s foibles, the lion spends their days protecting a nearby homeless encampment, observing hikers complain about their trauma, and, in quiet moments, grappling with the complexities of their gender identity, memories of a vicious father, and the indignities of sentience.”

📚 We will be meeting on Sunday, June 29th from 4:00-5:00 to discuss the book.
Book club meetings are free to attend, but donations towards cat care are always appreciated!

Good news: tons of cats have gotten homes this week!
Bad news: we will be down to 11 cats, and a lot of them are pretty new and shy. Because of this we are limiting the cat room to 6 people at a time instead of our usual 8. PLEASE make a reservation, because it will be extremely difficult to squeeze any walk-ins in!

Meet Cosmo!

Cosmo is a 2 year old male orange tabby.

This dude has had it rough. He was found by our partner rescue with his collar embedded in his neck. 😩 He is all healed up and healthy, but his fur is still growing back in that area.

Cosmo just arrived yesterday, but he’s already made some pretty great progress! Instead of hiding on the stairs where no one can reach him, he’s picked a few other cozy spots like under the bench and in one of the cage caves. Cosmo seems to enjoy the company of other cats, and has even cuddled Eden a bit!

My favorite thing about Cosmo is that even though he hides a bit, he gives away his hiding spot with his loud purrsistent meow! He loves to yap and has a bunch to talk to you about. 🧡

We think in the coming days, he will become more social and easier to pet! New kitties always need some time to settle in.

Cosmo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV-/FELV-, dewormed, and up to date on flea preventative.
