Blitz was a beloved SSNAP dog in our Seniors and Special Needs Advocacy Program. He came to us when he was just one year old and spent the last 7ยฝ years with us at DRU. Recently, he was diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor, and due to medical reasons, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.
Blitz had his behavioral challenges, which made it difficult to find the right home. He was selective about who he allowed into his inner circle โ but once you were in, you were truly in, and he loved โhisโ people with his whole heart. Here at DRU, he had exactly what he needed: consistency, patience, and people who understood him, respected him, and loved him exactly as he was.
Blitz may not have found a traditional forever home, but he was home โ with us. He was part of our DRU family, and he was loved every single day.
