I regret to inform everyone that BFK will be shutting down. Unfortunately, 1 individual has been the last straw and all I am willing to take mentally. I am a full time teacher, and I have done rescue for 12 years now. I have dedicated my life and my entire home to saving cats. Vindictive, evil people who have nothing better to do than harass rescues unfortunately ruin things that were created to be a blessing to animals in need. We have saved hundreds upon hundreds of cats from Kuwait, Egypt, and locally, and I will always be grateful for that. Remember to be kind...rescuers are always one step away from quitting or taking their lives due to the stress. I thank you all for your support and love. I hope to still be able to help in some way, just on my own.

Hi everyone! As most probably know, we cannot get cats here from Kuwait right now. Unfortunately, our Care Credit is over 5k and Leila (our partner in Kuwait) has no money for all the cats she is caring for because we have no adoption fees coming in to help her. To put it simply, we and Leila have no money. We need money to pay off bills and continue to care for all the kitties in Kuwait. Can everyone spare even $5? I say it all the time, but imagine if every member donated $5 how much money we'd have.

Please please help us and Leila. Now is a crucial time.

Adoptable Brandy is still looking for her forever home! She has warmed up and became such a sweetie pie since she came to the USA. Watching her come out of her shell and get some meat on her bones has been so rewarding. Anyone would be beyond lucky to have her in their home and receive her love ❤️

Meet Athena! She is a gorgeous, tiny Abyssinian. She is sleek, quick footed, and gorgeous. She needs to be socialized with people and cats (her foster is working on that with her.) She is coming along nicely. She is curious and playful-enjoys playing with wand toys and mylar crinkle balls.

loves playing with the resident cats in his foster home. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy- this is your boy!! He demands attention at all times and doesn't mind being picked up or held-he purrs almost constantly. He is fine with other cats and would probably be okay with a canine friend. He would likely do very well with a younger, high energy cat who doesn't mind some rough playing. He occasionally enjoys an outdoor walk on a harness with a leash. He will need regular ear cleanings as he produces a lot of dark wax. This boy is sooo sweet!

Adoptable Brandy is waiting for her furever home!

Brandy a American Curl mix who is a shy girl. She will thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home and a lot of patience. She warms up slowly and may seem standoffish at first, but once she feels safe, she will let you know. With me, she shows trust in subtle ways by rolling on rugs, showing her belly, and sitting nearby while I work. We haven’t gotten to cuddles yet however pets and belly rubs are always welcome. She has become my little sidekick who follows me around all day, but that might just be because she knows I am the one who feeds her!

Because of how long it’s taken her to feel comfortable, it’s important to know that her adjustment to a new home may take time. She’ll do best with an experienced adopter who understands that love doesn’t come quickly for every cat, but when it does, it’s incredibly special!

Good golly, it’s miss Holly! With her copper eyes and wooly fur, it’s easy to think she’s too cute to be real, but she is and she is still available for adoption! Holly wants nothing more than to be held or sit beside you and has so much love to give ❤️ she’s not super vocal or highly energetic, but she does like to scamper in short bursts after a toy or another cat. Holly does have the double-fold condition and will require regular nail trims, which she’s tolerated well so far. She will also need brushing more often due to the density of her fur, which she’s really not a fan of, but we’re working on it 😅 She would do best in a home with ample carpeting for traction and no or few stairs as she can’t/doesn’t jump or climb.

Are you looking for a girl with some sass? Look no further than Coal. Coal was part of a feral colony and I took her in and worked with her. She is mostly friendly but loves hissing and 2nd guessing whether or not you're a nice person. I believe this will diminish as she gets accustomed to a forever home. Right now, she is in a small room with other cats and doesn't get much attention due to how little time I have.

Coal is around 7 months old now. She is petite and LOVES other cats. She is very playful. She will need a patient adopter to start her world off small after adoption (quarantining her to a small room, bathroom, laundry room, etc) and then gradually work her way up to being loose in the entire house. She is a beautiful girl and will be so thankful for you giving her a loving home.
