Pitten wanted me to tell you that she just turned 21 years old. She looks great for her age, right? Grooming pitten is not about looks, it’s about comfort. Pitten has a standing 8 week grooming appointment.
Like many older cats, Pitten sleeps a lot. She has arthritis and can not get into the positions she needs to help herself. The oils on her skin become excessive. That causes her hair to stick in her coat. She lays around, keeping all her hair tightly compressed. That causes matting. It is VERY hard on her to have to be shaved and she doesn’t have the tolerance to have even tiny tangles combed out. I bathe Pitten to remove the excessive oil build up and blow dry her with a gentle yet forceful high velocity dryer to remove the hair. Coming in every 8 weeks for a bath is easier on Pitten, just like it’s easier to change your oil on a regular basis, rather than to replace your whole engine.

Good morning! I will be turning the online booking back on *later this afternoon*.
I had a wonderful week off. Here are some photos that show the beauty of Iceland. I have some customers who are going this summer so I brought back coupon books for them. 😂
I was only in Iceland for 4 1/2 days. I took some extra time off afterwards to rest from vacation and thank goodness I did because the passenger behind me who was sniffling every 15 seconds shared her cold with me.

Another cat sighting. I saw this cat in the window at Iceware. They said his owner came to take him out of the window. He lives at the shop across the street.
I saw him there and talked to his owner. Very nice man. I walked back up the street five minutes later he was back in the window at Iceware. 😂 He is 15 years old.

**************PRE-WARNING**************

C.A.T Grooming will be closed from Sunday May 25th - Wednesday June 4th.
Online booking, the answering machine, the salon cell phone will be OFF during this time frame.

I’ll be in Reykjavic, ICELAND and I will not be able to be contacted. I’m going to be soaking in a geo-thermal lagoon, eating strange things and possibly hiking up volcanos and I don’t want to think about work. If I meet any Icelandic cats I’ll be sure to post pics.

Blame Ben Stiller. I’ve wanted to go since the first time I saw “The secret life of Walter Mitty”, I even named my tiny Toy Poodle Walter Mitty. If you like Ben Stiller, I highly recommend the movie. Caution: Movie may make you want to visit Iceland. One moral of the story is not to be afraid to do the things you want to do, and I want to go to Iceland. 🤷‍♀️

Power is back on!

Just like 200,000 other people in the area, we have no power. Today is my 1-9pm day. I will keep this of you with appointments up to date by text or messenger.
My house is also in the outage area so I’m sitting in my car to charge my devices right now. I was going to drive around but there are no stop lights.
I’ve live in this area my entire life and have never witnessed the power being out for so long.

Poor little Jazzycat had a mild stroke episode the other day. When I came into work on Tuesday she was walking like she got in at 3 am from the St. Patrick’s day southside pub crawl. She had bloodwork and an X-ray. She has a heart murmur and the vet said her heart is large (We all know jazzy has a big heart) but there was no fluid so that’s good. She is slightly hypertensive, and has really bad arthritis. We are waiting on more bloodwork results and then we will see what type of meds we can give her for arthritis.
But if you come in and see her walking sideways, don’t worry. She is still eating, drinking and PURRING. She may have to give up her gig as a customer neck warmer though.
They said she gave them some Sass for her blood draw. Old girl still got s***k. 😂

I bought a wagon for you to wheel your heavy carriers back to the grooming area, but Jazzy has claimed it so I had to order another one. Jazzy is somewhere between 15-18 years old, so if something makes her happy she gets to keep it.
