This is how many foster applications we got this weekend.

Please don’t assume others are signing up. They’re not.

We aren’t lying when we say we are full.

There isn’t a single open crate. There isn’t a single open basement. We are maxed out.

If we want to help the cats in Arlington before it explodes, we need more fosters.

These cats are reproducing rapidly. (You can see how pregnant some of them are.)

The previous feeder has passed away, and the folks helping are totally in over their heads!

These babies are weaving between the helpers’ legs.

They believe there are 10-12. As we know, there’s always more than what we initially see.

Can you foster?

What if we told you these cats were doomed to a life on the streets of Arlington if you didn’t?

That’s the reality.

We are full. Very full. Too full. But they need help.

We can’t help without fosters.

Chicken? ✅

After TWO MONTHS of trying to trap this now 4 month old kitten, our foster broke down and strung a piece of chicken to the top of the trap.

Is that what did it?

We will never know.

But we got ‘em.

Now who wants to socialize this little rascal?

Right now, we are at an intake hold due to lack of foster homes.

We have a couple of foster kitties who need to leave their foster home while their foster parents travel and we could really use some extra hands (and homes)!

If you’ve got the space and a little time… we would love to have you on board!

We didn’t capture the moment the traps closed, but we can all sleep tonight knowing the final Carnegie kittens have been trapped and will be going into foster.

We were able to weigh one of them and they’re about 3lbs, which puts them at 3 months old.

Their poor mom was still lactating, which tells us they were still nursing like big giant babies. 🤣

She has been spayed and is recovering with her feeder. Her feeder also plans to keep her inside. 😻

There are 2 more cats that we know of in this very small area. Fingers crossed we have success trapping them this weekend! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

You may have thought we disappeared.

We didn’t.

This past month has been brutal for us and our volunteers.

But we DO have to give a huge shout out to the lovely neighbors we have been working with in this little nook of Carnegie.

They have truly gone above and beyond to help with trapping, fund raising and literally going door to door to find out who is feeding so that we can wrap this project up in a timely manner.

Meet Kobe and Charli - cats number 10 and 11. They were both trapped today and will be fixed tomorrow.

When we were originally called to this location, it was for 3 cats.

Remember this if you’re ever trapping somewhere…

Where there are 3, there are …. 10… or 12. Or even 14. 🫠

We know of 4 more cats that are there for sure. Two of them are kittens.

That’s 3 different litters of kittens and a whole bunch of mommies and daddies.

This would have only gotten worse.

To everyone who generously donated to Sir Loin’s care, we thank you. 🙏🏻

He unfortunately did not make it through surgery.

The plan was meant to be simple - his wound was found to be able to be closed off, and he would need to heal indoors for 2 weeks, then be released.

He tested positive for FIV. (This makes cat number 5 that has tested positive at this Carnegie location.)

FIV, while not a death sentence on its own, can definitely play a role in worsening complications with any other ailment a cat might develop.

Whether his passing under anesthesia was due to FIV or another underlying cause, we will never know, but we are finding comfort in knowing that he didn’t continue to suffer outside alone.

Thanks to all of you, he knew a little bit of love before he left, and we all got to know that a little Sir Loin existed. 🌈💔🪽
