We had our first scent work class! Spyder was catching on by the end of class and doing much better at “searching” for the scent. I’m excited to see how he does with this. As a stay at home mom, this is good for me and him! lol it’s our special time together. I’ll be taking classes till I’m too pregnant to take anymore lol 😆

For those of you that don’t know, you can compete in scent work trials through akc! This weekend there is a show in new castle (not too far from us Pittsburgh folk) and I’m not sure what all they offer but for anyone looking to spectate a great show (I haven’t been there in 10 years but our trainer will be exhibiting her Beauceron named Brew) this is a great locate one to hit up and see what is out there.
Akc has MUCH more than just conformation. There is a lot that mixed breeds and unregistered dogs can participate in too. Scent work, obedience, dock diving, urban herding, and much more! Check out the AKC website for more information and see if there is something you think your dog might be good at!
