The SEK Humane Society has been made aware of misinformation circulating regarding a recent post on the SEK Lost & Found page, and we would like to clarify what occurred.

The post regarding an injured dog was not removed by an administrator because another animal organization was mentioned or involved. It was stopped by Facebook’s automated moderation system as it flagged some of the words mentioned.

The individual who made the original post contacted the page directly. An administrator reviewed the issue, found nothing inappropriate with the post, immediately restored it, and explained what had occurred. The administrator also went through additional steps to have those types of words not to be flagged for future situations.

The individual was also assured that SEK Lost & Found does NOT remove posts simply because another shelter, rescue, or animal organization is mentioned.

The free SEK Lost & Found group page exists to help reunite animals with their families, regardless of which individuals or organizations are assisting them.

This Sunday’s Cake Picnic is about more than a table FULL of delicious cakes; it’s about coming together for the animals who call SEK Humane Society home.

Imagine walking up to a table filled with all kinds of cakes; from chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, funfetti, cheesecake, homemade favorites and maybe a few surprises.

Looking for a sweetheart who will steal your heart? Cinnamon Bun is a gorgeous gray and white bobtail with a love story all her own. When she first came to us, this precious girl was skin and bones. After careful testing and scans, we learned she was diabetic.

With daily insulin and lots of TLC, Cinnamon Bun made an amazing recovery and now she’s happy, healthy, and adorably plump!

This lively lovebug adores playtime and is famous for her affectionate headbutts, which she uses to make sure her favorite humans never forget about her. Cinnamon Bun is full of charm, cuddles, and playful energy. She’s ready to find her forever someone who will continue her care and shower her with the love she deserves.

Beetle is a playful, fun-loving guy who loves spending time with people.
