✨ EXTRA SPECIAL LOVE: MEET HARPY ✨

Harpy is a 7-lb Chiweenie with a BIG personality and a story worth sharing. 🐾

Harpy is very sight-impaired, but that hasn’t stopped him from enjoying the things he loves most. In his foster home, he has shown just how much personality is packed into his tiny body.

❤️ He loves humans and visitors
🧸 He is obsessed with toys
🚶 He LOVES walks
🍽️ He lives for mealtime
🧺 He has a particular talent for crawling into clean laundry
🚗 And car rides? Dramatic whining — unless he’s in foster dad’s lap.

His past may have included a rough chapter, but his foster home has given him the chance to show his true personality: funny, cuddly, playful, and determined to be included in absolutely everything.

Harpy is looking for a home where he can feel safe, decompress, and warm up. A home with young children is not recommended; older, calm children who can give him time to adjust may be okay.

Special needs don’t mean less love. Sometimes they just mean finding someone willing to see the whole dog.

Harpy is ready to steal your blankets, your laundry, and your heart. ❤️

📍 Currently fostered in Sacramento, CA
🐾 Available for adoption through Umbrella of Hope

Please share Harpy’s story. The right person might be one share away. ✨

What an amazing turn of events with this boy. He was minutes away from euthanasia when a wonderful foster home stepped up. Theodent has made tremendous changes since he first came to us. As you can see by the last two pictures, he was in a horrible state of condition.

Today we are happy to report he’s been adopted by his foster mom. She’s devoted so much time and patience helping “Thor” overcome his fears. He’s got a ways to go but he’s on the right path for success. That’s what this is all about when you foster.

Thank you a thousand times over for helping this boy gain confidence.

🚨 CAN ONE PERSON HELP? 🚨

We don’t need a big team right now.
We just need one person to say yes.

One foster home.
One person willing to open their door, even temporarily.

We’ll make it as easy as possible:
• We pay for all veterinary care
• We provide all supplies
• We guide you every step of the way
• Volunteer hours available upon request

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need a perfect setup.
You just need a safe space and a little time.

📍 Greater Bay Area & Sacramento region (and everywhere in between)

*Pictured is actual dogs in need of foster homes. If even one person steps up, we can keep going.

This sweet mama-to-be needs a hero. ❤️🐾

She’ll be welcoming her puppies very soon, but first she needs a safe, loving foster home.

Are you in the Bay Area or Sacramento area? Can you open your heart and home to this deserving little family?

Umbrella of Hope Animal Rescue provides everything they need—food, supplies, and veterinary care—until the puppies are adopted. You provide the love and a safe place for them to thrive.

Fostering a mama and her puppies is an incredible experience for families, and we’re also happy to sign off on community service hours.

⏳ Time is running out for this sweet girl. If you can help, please email us at [email protected] today.

If fostering isn’t possible, the next best way to help is by sharing this post. Your share could be the one that finds her foster hero.

Our is Boq. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Boq is 6 lbs and 9 years old, looking for his forever family! He is deaf and has limited vision, so he would prefer a calm, patient home without small children.

Boq is not fully housebroken but does well if someone brings him outside regularly. He doesn't enjoy crates, carriers or car rides, but loves going on walks.

Boq gets along well with dogs, though he likes to have some time and space to get to know humans. Once he trusts you, he is sweet and affectionate in his own gentle way.

To inquire about adopting Boq, please send an email to [email protected].

To make a tax-deductible donation towards his care, please visit www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo -hoperescue

Our rescue doesn’t stay in business on donations alone. It takes an incredible team of dedicated volunteers and foster families who give their time, love, and compassion to help unwanted animals.

Every life we save starts with someone willing to open their home. Fostering is easier than you might think—you provide the love and a safe place to land, and we provide everything else. We supply all the food, medical care, and other necessities, along with round-the-clock support every step of the way.

If you’ve ever thought about making a difference, now is the perfect time. Join our foster team and help give a shelter dog a second chance at life.

Email us today at [email protected] to learn more. We’d love to welcome you to our team! ❤️🐾

Many of our followers have suggested that we regularly post dogs in need of foster homes so we can rescue more animals. We’re excited to share that, thanks to the help of one of our dedicated volunteers, we’re going to give it another try!

To be honest, we’ve tried this in the past and, unfortunately, it was met with mostly silence. But the need has never been greater, and these dogs deserve every chance we can give them.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing dogs who need foster homes before we can say “yes” to rescuing them. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the perfect time. Fostering truly saves lives, and our rescue provides the support you need along the way. Our rescue is based put off Contra Costa County/Sacramento area but we are open to nearby cities if you can bring our fosters to our vet for treatments.

Please don’t just scroll by—share these posts, tag friends and family who might be interested, and help us reach the people who can make a difference. Together, we can turn those crickets into second chances.

Dogs are dying every single day in shelters across our state. Pictured are dogs that died TODAY because no foster’s stepped up to save them.

Not because they are sick. Not because they are aggressive. Not because they have done anything wrong.

Many are being euthanized simply because there is no space.

This crisis was created by people—dogs left behind when families move, dogs never spayed or neutered, dogs abandoned and left to roam, and dogs surrendered when life becomes difficult. A small number are strays whose families never found them, or beloved pets whose owners passed away with no one able to take them in.

The reality is heartbreaking.

But there is something you can do.

We desperately need foster homes. Fostering saves lives. It gives a dog a safe place to stay while they wait for a permanent family, and it opens a kennel space so another life can be saved.

If you cannot foster, please share. Then share again. Post on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, TikTok, and anywhere animal lovers gather. Every share helps these dogs reach someone who may be able to help.

Doing nothing changes nothing.

Will you foster? Will you share? Will you help us give these dogs a chance? We are located in the Bay Area and will accept fosters from Sacramento to Stockton (if you can bring animals to our vet for treatment).

Their lives depend on people stepping up. Email us at [email protected] or fill out the foster form www.beourpet.org/fostering.php

Run free little ones. We are sorry the human race has failed you 😭😭😭
