📢NEW TO THE CREW📢

So now that I’ve introduced you to Biscuit, I can’t wait to introduce y’all to this BOY. We typically only have mares but when it comes to draft horses, I love geldings.

So back in November of 2024, my husbands mare Ellie passed away suddenly. We aren’t sure what had happened but we were all heartbroken. My husband especially so. He didn’t really show an interest in riding anymore much less getting another personal horse.

Enter Theodore. Scrolling on Facebook in March we came across an ad for this handsome giant and my husband said “that’s my horse.” He was about 2 hours from us so the next morning I arranged for me to meet Theo and potentially bring him home. Of course I fell in love instantly with him. Standoffish and not use to affection, Theo is a 10 year old Belgian Percheron cross that was part of a team. His teammate sold but he did not. I was told he came from Amish country. I was also told he was about 18HH however after sticking him when we got home he is roughly 19-19.1hh.

Upon getting home you could tell he was not use to affection, was very much standoffish and unsure of himself. Watching him blossom and become the horse version of a Great Dane has been one of the most humbling experiences as a horse lover. He especially loves children and being scratched on all day. Theo is so aware of how big he is and takes careful consideration of where his big body is at all times. Watching him and my husband get to know one another and grow is such a heartwarming sight. 🖤

📢NEW TO THE CREW📢

With it being so long since I updated this page, and so much has changed since we originally got Gypsy, we wanted to give you all a herd update!

We had 2 new faces join our herd and I would love to introduce them to you! Especially since one is Gypsy, and her BFF Ice, herd mate! We will start with her and then, keep an eye out for another post later today!

Meet Biscuit! This beautiful red mare is in her late teens, and we went almost all the way to Georgia to pick her up! I’m not exactly sure of her breed but she is an absolute doll. Biscuit was previously owned by an older gentleman who decided he could no longer keep her and her bonded herdmate. So a friend of ours took them both and was trying to keep them together. Sadly Biscuit and her pony friend ended up separated and so I decided to bring her home. She absolutely broke my heart, continuously looking for her pony. She paced our fence line for almost 2 weeks and hardly ate. But after coaxing and a lot of ritz cracker bribing (how she got her name Biscuit), she finally started to settle. With Gypsy and Ice being separated from my other two mares, Dolly and Cove, as we dont have stalls for seperate feeding, due to Gypsy having stomach ulcers at the time and Ice’s HYPP, and their dietary/supplement needs; we decided to pasture them together. After a week, they all become inseparable!

Hi everyone! It’s been a long while since we updated this page but wanted to drop in and say that Gypsy continues to thrive!

We had a set back with stomach ulcers, in which we battled for what seemed like forever. But true to her nature, Gypsy bounced back better than ever and continues to shower us with her love, confidence and quirky personality.

Her little boy absolutely adores her and takes every chance to give her all the attention every horse deserves. Watching them learn and love one another is heart warming. She’s teaching him how to be a great young rider. 🖤

A year ago today I brought home the sweetest soul with such wide eyes that was nothing but skin and bone. Today, she’s much chunkier, livelier and doesn’t look like she’s on deaths door. She has the sweetest personality and just wants to be loved. Happy got ya day Gypsy. You are one of the best decisions I ever made. 🖤

Gypsy did a thing today!! We took this sweet girl on a quick trail ride today to get her away from the house and work on some muscle building. Walked over some logs and up and down a few hills. Got exposure to large ponds, ducks, geese, bridges, cows, donkeys and other passing trail riders. She was the absolute best girl. 🖤

Shew! Hey everybody! I hope every one is doing well! Just wanted to pop in while I had a moment to say Gypsy is still going strong! It’s been a hard start to the year for us here after losing our super senior and heart of our herd. Missy, my 35 year old and very first horse I’ve owned since I was 7 and she was 14, passed on January 15th, she told me that she was tired and although it absolutely shattered my heart, I gave her the last act of kindness that I could, surrounded by all the humans that had the honor of knowing and loving her. I’ve been pretty reclusive leading up to that day as I felt it in my heart that it was coming, and even more so after.

Anyways, Gypsy is still as sweet as ever. Needing some muscles and I’d love to pack on another 150-200lbs or so. My coming three year old red headed devil, Dolly, has been an absolute menace to her. She is so low on the totem pole I think she might be the dirt at the bottom of the hole that the pole is set into.

We are getting feet trimmed later this week, vet comes out soon to do coggins and hopefully we can get her out on some light trail rides as we gear up for this beautiful warm weather! 🖤
