“You’re Not the Only One”
You ever feel like maybe you're just not cut out for this?
Like no matter how much you try, your horse still pulls back, still resists, still spooks, still doesn’t trust?
I’m gonna tell you something I wish someone had told me:
You’re not the only one. And you’re not broken.
You’re just learning.
Nobody shows up knowing how to lead a horse with calmness, clarity, and feel.
But here’s the truth that changed everything for me:
👉 Your horse isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for peace.
If your energy is frustrated — he feels it.
If your thoughts are scattered — he mirrors it.
But when you slow down…
Take a breath…
And reset your focus…
Your horse says:
“Ahh… there you are.”
So here’s your solution:
Next time things go wrong — don’t get bigger.
Just back off for 5 seconds.
That moment of space is where trust is built.
💡 Try it today. With your horse. With your spouse. With your own thoughts.
It’s not giving up.
It’s making room to move forward the right way.
I believe in you.
And I’m here to show you how to lead the way — even when things go sideways.

The Look You Almost Missed 👀
You ever feel your horse take a deep breath and pause... right before all heck breaks loose?
That’s not nothing.
That’s a warning.
On a trail ride, it’s easy to miss the little signs — the tightened lip, the frozen feet, the ears stuck like radar.
And the next thing you know?
You’re on high alert... wondering if you’re riding or surviving.
Your horse is always speaking. Are you listening?

👀 “My horse won’t stand still.”
“My horse pulls back.”
“My horse won’t catch me.”
You don’t have a bad horse…
You just need a better plan.
I’ll help you build one.

🔥 Hey friends… can I ask you something?
Are these posts helping you?
Because my heart is to help you keep going — especially when things get tough.
I want you to become the kind of person who keeps their head up…
Even when the world tries to drag you down.
Even when your horse acts up.
Even when life doesn’t go the way you planned.
Momentum matters.
And mindset is everything.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to keep showing up.
So if you're stuck…
If you're tired…
If you're wondering if you’ve got what it takes…
👉 Ask your questions. I’m here.
And remember this:
God didn’t bring you this far to watch you fail.
Keep building strength in your faith.
And keep moving forward — one step at a time. 💪🐴🙏

Why does my horse act bad sometimes?
A bad horse is usually a confused one.
A scared horse.
Or one that's not understood.
Same goes for people.
Let's slow down-and listen better-to both...

“Dang he’s stubborn.”
“You ole stuborn horse.”
“Dog gone, this horse is driving me crazy. I cannot control him. That horse wont do a thing I tell him.”
💭 "It’s not about control. It’s about connection."
It’s time to change your thinking.
When your horse trusts you, everything changes.
That’s what I teach — and it works every time.
👉 Are you building trust… or just trying to get through the ride?

I hope everyone is staying cool. Dog gone its hot . Im going to post some daily tips each day.
Tip 1:
Most folks wait until something goes wrong
before they decide to lead.
That’s too late.
Your horse needed a leader 5 steps earlier.
Be ahead of the problem — not behind it.

“Stubborn? Or Scared?”
Years ago I would call my horse stubborn.
He’d brace up… pull away… refuse to move.
But I wasn’t seeing what was really going on.
He wasn’t being difficult.
He was being honest.
He was unsure.
He didn’t feel safe.
He was trying to tell me something — and I wasn’t listening.
The moment I stopped judging and started observing…
Everything changed.
Now I teach my students to ask this one powerful question:
👉 “Is he being stubborn… or is he scared?”
Because the answer changes how you lead.
And when you lead with understanding instead of anger,
You stop having to fix problems…
And start preventing them.

A new kind of horsemanship is rising —
And it starts with the way we see the horse.

Hey guys, This isn’t just another horse training tip.
It’s the core of everything we believe at 3L Horsemanship.
Because for too long, people have been taught to fix their horse without fixing themselves.
This post is the truth that changed everything for us —
And it might be the moment that changes everything for you too.
The course that I promised you about Leadership is done. I will be posting it soon.
“We Don’t Start With Techniques”
(Builds curiosity, truth, and transformation)
Most training programs start with techniques.
They say, “Do this cue… Make him back up… Send him in circles…”
But we don’t start there.
We start with the human.
We prepare your mindset.
We teach you why your horse does what he does.
And we help you stop reacting… and start leading.
Because horsemanship isn’t just about what you do with your hands —
It’s about who you are when you walk into the pen.
At 3L Horsemanship , we’re not just training horses.
We’re building leaders.
We’re changing identities.
Two horses. One mind. One heart.
A new kind of horsemanship is rising…
And it starts with YOU.

"Hey guys... I’ve been thinking a lot about leadership lately.
Not the kind you read in books...
But the kind that matters to your horse.
And I realized — leadership ain’t just about what you do...
It’s about who you are."
“A while back, I watched a young lady trying to get her horse to walk with her.
She’d watched the videos…
She had the right halter, the right timing, the right pressure and release.
But the horse kept drifting away, checking out, licking but not really listening.
She looked at me and said:
‘I don’t get it. I’m doing everything right.’
And I said:
‘I don’t think he’s confused by what you’re doing...It’s about trusting you.
I think he’s not sure yet Who you are.’
Because leadership isn’t something we pull from the outside.
It’s something we carry on the inside.
And horses feel that — every second.”
“That’s when I realized something we don’t talk enough about Leadership and Identity—
Leadership and Identity go hand in hand.
You can’t lead well if you’re unsure about who you are. (Confident Leader or a Follower)
And your horse…
Well, he’s not confused, he just doesn't feel safe…
He’s just waiting on a leader who’s worth following.”
Well what do you think? Leave a comment. Does Your Horse try to be in control? Hard to catch. Hard to mount. What does your horse do to be in control? Or maybe your friend is struggling with his horse.

We need to learn to think like a horse.
When I was 10 years old, I would tell my mom that I’m headed to the horse’s world. When I got there, I would sit on the fence and just watch the horse’s for 30 minutes or maybe longer. Watching them talk to each other. Giving signals that the horse farthest away would understand. This fascinated me so much that after a few months I was able to know what they were going to do before they did it. The horse became my teacher and still is today.
All Untrainable Horses Need Is To Be Understood
So as time went by, and now I am much older I began training horses for other people. And as I trained horses for a couple years, I began to notice that the owners also needed training. So I started teaching the owners the basic fundamentals of horsemanship every Saturday. And then I started doing horsemanship clinics in Arkansas and many other states. I also traveled to different towns inviting horse owners to bring their problem horse to my seminar. Even the “untrainable” horse. Some of the horse owners were told by trainers and veterinarians that the horse was untrainable and they should put their horse down. (The reason I say this is because I had many people ask me if I could save their horse.) I told them that if their horse was okay physically, yes their horse could be trained to ride. So my promise was that I would work with the horse and ride him in 30 minutes time. You see, I had a system that enabled me to be able to get the horse in a calm state. And thank the Lord it worked every time. I teach this system in all my horsemanship clinics and my 1on1 sessions. I believe that all the times I spent studying horses when I was a kid is WHY I was able to come up with this system. I did the seminars for two more years. My business grew very fast. I was doing lots of horsemanship clinics and training 15 horses a month. I had also developed a problem-solving program that kept me busy.
Everything was going well until I was diagnosed with Leukemia.
So I started the chemotherapy, and this went on for a year. My business started slowing down until I was entirely out of business. But thanks to the good Lord’s help I developed a method that would give beginners or people struggling with their horses a way to learn quickly and develop years of experience in a shorter amount of time. And not only that but this method helped them in their personal life also. So all I had to do was put a plan together and start rebuilding my business. Now I will be able to help people not only in their horsemanship but in their everyday life too. Now, how cool is that?
But the Lord added something else to this plan.
The method worked so good with adults, I started teaching children how to become a good horseman. I started getting calls from people asking me if I would be their horsemanship instructor in their Youth Rodeo Bible Camps. I started getting calls from people asking if I would do a Kids Horsemanship Clinic at their facility. And last but not least, Southern Christian Children’s Home asked me to work with their kids. Wow, God put me to work fast. Thank You, Jesus. At this moment, we are shooting videos for several online programs that will be for sale in the next few months. And a training program that you can take online, with me as your teacher. We are really excited about all these programs because I know they will work for the person that really wants to succeed in horsemanship and wants to better their lives.
