This modern facility was built in 2004 to help us provide better comprehensive medical and surgical care for our patients. We offer you and your pet complete healthcare including surgical and intensive care, a complete laboratory, in house pharmacy, ultrasound and radiology. Most diagnostic and treatment procedures can be handled within the hospital. We also offer modern boarding for most small animals including dogs, cats, birds, and pocket pets.

💦 Don't let Lepto muddy the waters! 😝
In this video, this is Stu, he belongs to one of our veterinary technicians and loves splashing in puddles, rolling in the mud, and any adventure involving water. Thankfully, Stu is vaccinated against Leptospirosis, helping keep him protected while he enjoys his muddy adventures!
Living in Florida, we have plenty of wildlife and stagnant water, which can increase the risk of Leptospirosis. Lepto is a bacterial disease spread through the urine of infected animals and can be found in contaminated water, mud, and soil. It can cause serious kidney and liver disease in dogs and can even be transmitted to people.😲
💉 Protection is simple! Dogs receiving the Lepto vaccine for the first time need a 2-dose series given 2–4 weeks apart, followed by annual boosters.

Help Us Find Oscar His Perfect Home 🐾😍
Oscar is a 3-year-old neutered Border Collie mix looking for a loving new home. He is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and loves having a job to do. He even knows unique skills like helping pick up laundry and finding flying bugs on command!
Oscar would do best with an experienced owner who understands high-energy working breeds and can provide the structure, training, and mental stimulation he needs. He has a strong prey drive and can be reactive to other dogs and small animals.
His owner has made the difficult decision to rehome him due to significant vision loss and health challenges that make it impossible to safely meet his needs. This decision comes from a place of love and wanting the best future for Oscar.
Oscar recently injured his leg and may have a torn ACL that could require surgery in the future.

Our technician Heather always keeps a special eye on this sweet girl, sending photo updates to her owners while she boards with us.
During this stay, Pepper treated herself to a mani, pedi, and oral health procedure (dental cleaning) talk about a spa day! 💅
She even posed on Heather's lap afterward to show off her fresh new look.

It is with bittersweet emotions that we announce the retirement of Dr. Elmer after more than 40 years of dedicated service at Pinellas Animal Hospital.
Since joining our team in 1985, Dr. Elmer has cared for countless pets and families with compassion, dedication, and a genuine love for every patient. He will be remembered not only for his excellent veterinary care and sense of humor, but also for always buying sweets for the staff to help brighten busy days.🥰
Not only will the staff miss him, but the countless clients and patients whose lives he touched over the years will always remember and appreciate his care.

Meet Appa, the handsome Alaskan Malamute mix! 🐺😍
Appa came in last week for a dental procedure and to have an eyelid mass removed. Everything went great, but it looks like recovery technician Cindy decided to throw in an extra service while he was waking up... a full undercoat blowout! 😄
While monitoring his recovery, Cindy couldn't resist brushing out all that loose Malamute fur. Before long, there was enough hair on the floor to make a whole second dog!
It's the little things that make Cindy go above and beyond for her patients. Appa left with a healthier smile, a more comfortable eye, and a lot less fluff!😉
