What a wonderful Jump Painting Party 🥰

We got all the kids together today to put some WELL needed love into our jumps… we couldn’t have gotten all of this equipment touched on today if it weren’t for our wonderful barn family. Thank you to every one of our students, each sibling, every single parent and everyone in between !

This revamp came just in time, as of the last two weeks we now have our first kiddos dipping their toes into WT pole practice ! We can’t leave these freshly painted poles unjumped 👀

Two spots available for full board off of Linden in Aberdeen !
Lessons available onsite, specializing in the hunters and jumpers, as well as the option of western and ground work lessons with the other trainer onsite.
Group turn out, big, well maintained pastures, two jump fields, sand arena and round pen available to boarders. Additionally, we have access to miles of trails, a mile galloping track, and a lake with the most gentle entrance into the water.

The current program of lesson students is primarily beginner riders aiming for their first horse shows in the fall. All of our kiddos start in the hunters and have the option to stay in that ring or graduate into show jumping once certain fundamentals have been established- straight lines are hard ! Let’s get really good at those before we consider rollbacks, slices, and the inside turn. After years of schooling in Saumur, France at the Cadre Noir, l’Ecole Nationale d’Equitation, our trainer has structured our program after the Classical French training system. We put a heavy focus on rider position and balance before asking much of our horses. Lessons not mandatory for boarders but are encouraged.

Our facility offers the chance for competitively minded riders to prep appropriately for their next outing as well as a place for a more leisure-based rider to enjoy their horse in a lovely environment. Many, many hours are spent after lessons enjoying the company of other boarders and clients and parents… we would love to have you join us !

I learned to ride on one named Puffy, a little one named Rosie gave me the chance to launch into teaching out of my own program, and now our beloved Redford keeps our newest littles safe and happy.

We’ve had four come off the lunge line in the last month and we are thrilled ! Congratulations Reagan, Libby, Luke, and Milly on their hard earned graduation to a little more freedom 🥰 from here, we’ll step out of the round pen and into one of our fields to start on steering. Our local WT division doesn’t know what’s coming for it 😉

Huge shout out to Red, our littles master, and his apprentice (Fluffy) for their tiniest trot steps and endless patience so far this summer

It’s been a big week at the farm !

This year, we opened our doors to beginners for the first time in ages. Our first little, Reagan, joined us in the middle of March for her first ever riding lesson.

Three months later, we are off the line ! We’ve been working extensively on posting without hands so when she finally got her reins, we’d be a little kinder to Red’s sweet little face.

So, so excited to watch the rest of our Little Fleet™️ join her off the lunge. The reins are finally, quite literally, in her hands 🥹

(The trick is having a good QH & pretty pen panels)

Devastated to be on this side of our last show (for now) with Amelia before she and the family make their move to Virginia this month.
I met Amelia years ago, well before hair nets and garters and bows. I had the pleasure of teaching her how to canter and keeping her through putting her first change on a pony. Many good horse shows, two wonderful clinics, and at least a hundred miles put in on the Foundation together. Eternally grateful for my Hines family, each of you will be deeply missed. I cannot wait for the first updates from VA and I’m even more impatient for our next horse show together.
Well done, my girl… we’ll miss you!
