I just got back from a fun weekend at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival! With such a busy May this year Eve decided she just couldn't make it. My mom (Jackie Berryhill) and sister (Kim Anderson) decided they would fill in and experience MSWF for the first time. It was a busy but fun-filled two days with more than my fair share of success. God blessed us with safe travel, safety from the huge storm that hit late afternoon Saturday, and a little time alone with my mom after losing my dad two weeks ago.

I suppose it's time for an update after winter hibernation! I just finished my first week of lambing and have 20 lambs out of 11 ewes to show. As usual every year has it's ups and downs. So far 4 singles, 2 sets of triplets and 5 sets of twins.

Shearing Day is almost here! It sounds like shearing will start around 8:00 AM and should be finished by noon. It is confirmed that we will again have gourmet pizzas on hand - free samples. There will be plenty of work to be done. Apparently there will be 2 shearers which means more help will likely be needed. We will also have the farm shop open. Hope to see you Saturday!

Just a reminder that shearing day is less than 3 weeks away! We plan to get started around 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 19. Open to all who are interested. Coffee will be available to warm you up and g gourmet pizzas off the grill will be available starting mid morning. If you're interested in helping, plan to get your hands dirty!
