Woah the baby count is in!

Belgian Hares: 12 new littles
(To add to the 9 six weekers)

Tans: 15+ alive

Spots: down to 1 marked

Pretty good odds considering they were born in the artic temps :) seems like we had 2/3 on Hares, 1/1 spots, 7/9 on tans

Smaller than normal litters across the board but I'm okay with that now that our barn is full to its brims again!

(these are literally the only 2 chocolate animals in my barn and I would not be selling them other than that I have decided to just eliminate chocolates from my barn all together)

Also...have 4 folks on a wait list for Belgian Hares but still have a few more babies left in the litter. Hope to s*x the babies today and know what we are actually looking at :)

And...today is breeding day; putting together a huge breeding line up and crossing our fingers 🐇

This weekend we are breeding a few more tans just so that we can get a last litter from a doe or two before we send them off to help other herds :)

Waiting on Angelina Belgian Hare to give us a nice litter sometime in the next few days and planning to breed an additional 2 hares in the next two weeks also since apparently 8 month old hares look AWESOME!

The spots (all remaining 6 of them) haven't made the breeding lists this go around but theres still time to reconsider...not sure...not sure. Hard to say no when we ended on such a high note with them last season but also so hard to say yes when I know that in order to yield a baby or two like those that did so well last year we need to produce an exuberant number of babies hah

Have a few tan litters in the nest boxes (including one nest box that lives in the kitchen hah) and a hare litter expected in the next few days! Excited for the spring season and to see what this next show season may hold!

Excited to head to Canton, OH in May for the first time for Hare Nationals!
