today I felt the need to bring an old cowboy tradition east. the empty saddle started with the old cowboys when they passed they were buried where they were found and their horses were brought back to the home range with any valuable items such as boots spurs etc. it was carried into the Mexican American war by the rangers as they brought their fallen home. today i did it to remember all the horse people that have been lost thru the years. this goes out to the cowboys of old, the calvary men, the teamsters, the trainers, breeders, riders who have passed and built this great nation and the horse lines that we enjoy today. to those that went before, i bow my head in respect and i hope they are enjoying the freedom of the range with the rainbow bridge in the background leading them home. !
