🐴💧 Hey horse lovers! Let's talk about a hot (or should I say cold?) topic: Should horses be allowed to drink cold water? 🥶

Some folks say cold water can cause colic, while others argue that as long as the horse isn't overheated, it's totally fine. 🤔 So, what's the deal?

Here's the scoop: Most experts agree that horses can drink cold water without any issues, as long as they're not super hot and sweaty from a workout. 🌡️ Just like us, they need to stay hydrated, and sometimes a cool drink can be refreshing!

But remember, always monitor your horse's behavior and consult your vet if you're unsure. 🐎❤️

What do you think? Have you let your horse drink cold water? Share your experiences below! 👇👇

🎆 Happy 4th of July to all our amazing farm & ranch owners and horse lovers out there! 🎆

Today, we celebrate the birth of our great nation and the freedoms we cherish. It's a day to remember the courage and determination of those who fought for our independence back in 1776.

As you enjoy the festivities, BBQs, and fireworks, take a moment to appreciate the land we love and the animals that make our lives so special. Whether you're riding through the fields or tending to your crops, know that your hard work and dedication embody the true spirit of America.

Wishing you all a safe and joyful Independence Day! 🐴🌾❤️

🔥🐴 Barn Fire Prevention Tips! 🐴🔥

Hey barn fam! 🐾 Let's talk about keeping our beloved barns safe from fires. Here are some quick tips to help prevent any fiery mishaps:

1. **Electrical Check-Up**: Regularly inspect and maintain all electrical wiring and equipment. No frayed wires allowed! 🔌
2. **No Smoking**: Make your barn a strict no-smoking zone. 🚭
3. **Cleanliness is Key**: Keep the barn clean and free of cobwebs, dust, and flammable materials. 🧹
4. **Proper Storage**: Store hay and other flammable materials away from heat sources. 🌾
5. **Fire Extinguishers**: Have them handy and make sure everyone knows how to use them. 🧯
6. **Emergency Plan**: Have a clear evacuation plan for both humans and animals. Practice it regularly! 🚨

Stay safe and keep those barns cozy and fire-free! 🏡❤️

Important Update for Horse Owners and Veterinarians!

The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) has issued revised Internal Parasite Control Guidelines to help minimize the risk of parasitic disease and maintain the effectiveness of current drugs by delaying further development of anthelmintic resistance.

These updated guidelines incorporate recent advances in understanding anthelmintic resistance and optimizing parasite control management practices. They also address common misconceptions and provide specific recommendations for parasite control programs tailored to senior horses (over 15 years old), mature horses (between 5 and 15 years old), and young horses (under 5 years old).

For more detailed information, please visit: https://aaep.org/post/aaep-publishes-updated-internal-parasite-control-guidelines/

We extend our gratitude to the AAEP Internal Parasite Control Guidelines Task Force, chaired by Dr. Nielsen and comprised of 10 dedicated AAEP members, predominantly board-certified in veterinary internal medicine, veterinary parasitology, and/or veterinary microbiology. Thank you for your invaluable contributions!
