Our eight Mustangs, which we adopted from Theodore Rosevelt National Park, are our pride and joy and our labor of love. We hope you enjoy the story and please check out the Wild in North Dakota page to learn more about the fate of these amazing animals.
Let us know if you have any questions. Be sure to come out this season and trail ride with us!
Here is our first feature story from the 2023 calendar, “Where Are They Now”…
The owner of these 8 lucky horses plan has always been to increase the awareness of our wild horses! That is what got her into owning not just one, two or three, but 8 beautiful wild horses from Theodore Roosevelt National Park! Her first couple brought both sorrow and joys in the gentling process but with time, patience, and gentle handling, all have come around to be happy and well-adjusted horses now living in a domestic setting. She adds that being able to swing a leg over a Mustang you have built a foundation with is exhilarating, to say the least! Her first four are all trained to trail and are now providing lessons for young riders!
Her second set of four came about due to a surrender by another family who, due to unforeseen circumstances, had to make the decision to re-home them. The first call I made was to this owner and being so generous in heart and spirit, she agreed to take in all 4 bringing her total of TRNP horses up to 8! These last 4 are still building that foundation for hitting the trail, but they are safe and sound now in her care!
Now, more than ever, she is grateful to have these horses who are a legacy from TRNP for generations to come! She is open to taking in even more horses if needed as she adores their free spirits and they have taught her so much about life! Huge thanks to this wonderful owner for opening her heart and home to these magnificent horses and providing them with a fantastic life now in their forever home!
Hope you enjoyed this first story and look forward to more to come with each passing month!
Thanks everyone!
Eileen
