Yes I only have 2 puppies available at this time. If you are interested send me a message. I do not answer my phone due to scammers and other odd calls.
Yes I vet my buyers first via text or emails.
Why? I do not have hours and hours to take phone calls for tire kickers and window lookers.
I work a full time plus management job, as does my husband. He works later in the day and I work super early through midday. I go home check dogs, get someone out and work them, on something, rest, find dinner and then spend time with them usually handing out treats as I clean the house. Before I go to bed they come inside and get dinner. If they eat before I go to my room they may get a chicken foot or something. They all know their names and typically come in the door one by one as I call their names.
We sleep. I get up and let them all out unless it's super early and then my husband gets that job. Off I am to work.
I can respond to messages and emails at work as I am the boss, but rarely do I take calls about dogs while I'm at work. I can't always talk, my employees sometimes have more questions then I care to answer some days and lately we have been trespassing people for bad behavior and theft like we are giving out candy on Halloween. I'm busy.
When contacting any breeder a few things to think about.
Are you ready now for a dog?
Do they have a place to see available puppies?
look there first
If your looking for a specific color and s*x a good breeder may not have it available right now it may be best to get on a waiting list or put a deposit down.
Can most of my questions be answered via their website or page? Please scroll around and look.
Do you know everyone in the household wants to get a dog? If not deal with that first. Hearing I need to talk to my spouse first usually means we will never hear from you again. That is wasted time.
We have not just you asking about pups but typically more.
If color and s*x are specific ask yourself why?
This is a breed of many colors and patterns. In the end they don't matter! Your dogs temperament and energy level is what is going to make or break it's life living with you. Does that matter to you?
How much am I willing to spend? $500 or $2000 is very different. The more expensive dog might be from fully health tested parents or MAY not be. Also that can go the other way in price as well. Was just the parents tested how about the grandparents?
DNA testing is very common amongst breeders and anyone doing that at the very least is going to cost $1000 or more as pups are expensive to raise.
If parents have had hips, elbows and Caer eye exams likely they will be more. Those dogs may also have titles that prove they are worthy of being bred for one factor or another.
Do we sometimes have pups we just need to sell for some reason and the hit on less has to be a factor? Sure. That's up to the breeder to do. It depends on what they have into the cost of raising the litter and the parents and what life is throwing at them I supose.
Do not come at a breeder with "well your dogs are TOO EXPENSIVE!! I'm not paying more than $500!"
I will shake my head and say good luck to you! I just don't care if that is your budget personally. Just realize I am not the breeder for you.
I have litters that I've done more with their parents then any other dog and I should be getting a lot more for their pups, but those are litters I'm looking for a different kind of person.
My point is do your homework. We certainly have here for almost 30 years. I have been in dogs all my adult life. I have researched and asked many many questions to breeders and fanciers before me. About the dogs in my pedigrees. I've seen or owned a lot in the generations behind my dogs. I travel to Nationals and other shows to see dogs I am interested in and wAtch them silently sometimes as I want to know what the dog is really like outside of the ring. What do we have to train? What personality quirks are there and can I live with them?
I'm getting older and the idea of a dog who can't settle down is not for me. I need a dog who will lay down and chill! I need a dog who says let's do it!!! when I need it. Not go go go go all the dang time!
I want dogs that are structural sound so they don't need knees, hips or acl's etc repaired for some reason or another. Expensive surgeries is not what I want me or my buyers to have to deal with as the dog gets on in age as well.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
