About me: My name is Erin Marion, I have been around dogs since I was born in Chester Springs Pennsylvania. I built my business from

the ground up in Portland, Oregon and now I am back to my roots in PA! When I was little all of my favorite memories were stuffing my nose into any dog book or animal book I could find. Raised with an 80lb Bouvier De Flandres, I never had a fear of dogs or animals (considering our family dog looked like a bear). Her unique outlook on animal behavior opened my eyes to seeing animals differently. Once I adopted my first dog who suffered from extreme separation anxiety, leash aggression and much more I started to obsess over all there was about dogs and being a good dog owner to a high energy canine. Eleven years later I have taken every seminar, class, one-on-one talk, and even my own clients experience and have molded them into my training method. I make sure every client feels heard, respected and appreciated ! I am here to help you and your dog become a team. Yes, training the dog is a part of it, but truly this is me training you to strengthen your commands, body language, and appreciation for your dog and for yourself. I specialize in helping deaf and blind dog guardians create a unique and special language to be able to communicate with their dog effectively. I am also an official training partner for Speak! St Louis and All 4 Paws rescues. For training questions email :

There are few feelings better than calling your dog... and watching them choose to come flying back to you. ❤️

It’s one of the most common questions we get as trainers: how do I teach my dog to come back when I call them?

(The unsaid part of the question? How do I get them to come back when there is REALLY interesting stuff out in the world, like squirrels??!?!)

Building a reliable recall takes so much more than just repeating "come" louder and louder. It takes hundreds of small moments where your dog learns that checking in and coming back to you is safe, rewarding, and yes even FUN!

That's why I spend so much time teaching the foundation before worrying about distance or distractions.

Because a solid recall opens up so many possibilities. More freedom for you to take adventures (safely) with your dog.

If your dog's recall isn't where you'd like it to be yet, don't get discouraged!! It's can be a life-saving skil.

So we’re teaming up (Erin of Down to Earth Doglady and Mattison of Freed by Training: Certified Dog Training and Behavior ) to show you EXACTLY how we train recall with our clients and personal dogs.

This interactive virtual workshop is TOMORROW at 11 AM ET. Comment “RECALLCLASS” for the link to sign up and we hope to see you there!

A reliable recall looks good on every dog, but more importantly, it has the potential to save a life. The foundation of a strong and safe recall is communication and connection.

Join and on Saturday, August 8 for an online Recall Workshop to teach you the skills to build a strong foundation for a recall you can truly rely on.

Together, we'll cover:

• Real-world examples and practical problem solving
• Live Q&A to answer your questions about your own dog

And with every good flex, comes great responsibility.

I am curious, what does your life look like with your deaf or blind dog?

Personally, I have sometimes felt alone because my dogs are “different” and life with them doesn’t look the same as my friends or families dogs so I built a support group for deaf and or blind dogs and their guardians.

If you have ever craved a space to ask your questions, feel supported and validated and learn some next steps without committing financially to a big training package this is 100% for you.

The virtual support group for deaf and or blind dogs is $15.99 a month and we meet bi-monthly so you can ask for professional help and learn from other guardians around the globe.

Or if one on one coaching feels more supportive to you and your dog I’d love to be there for you. I offer virtual sessions for clients all over the world!

3 spots remaining for this Sunday’s Life Skills class on the farm …don’t wait!

Life Skills is designed for dogs who need to build confidence and reliability in the real world. We work through the everyday essentials loose leash walking, focus, impulse control, greeting manners, and more in a small group setting on our working farm. The farm environment is intentional. With goats, chickens, and wide open space as your backdrop, your dog learns to think, settle, and respond even when the world around them is busy and unpredictable.

This is not a warehouse training facility. This is hands-on, thoughtful work in an environment that genuinely challenges your dog in the best way possible and builds the kind of foundation that carries into real life.

Busy schedule for the rest of the summer? No problem this class is a single class that you can pop into anytime you’re free on a Sunday from 11-12!!

Spots for this Sunday are almost gone. Additional classes are already available on the schedule for the rest of the summer!

Vet day. This time it was a trip to see the neurologist for Darla and her epilepsy.

Living with a dog who has seizures is its own kind of journey. We’ve been managing this her whole life, and lately she’s been having a seizure about once a week. That’s enough for Jay and I to know it was time to make a change, so today we added a new medication to her protocol.

We’re feeling hopeful. Not naive, just hopeful. This disease doesn’t come with guarantees, but we keep showing up for her, adjusting when we need to, and trusting the team of vets who know her case inside and out.

Sharing this because so few people talk about what epilepsy actually looks like day to day for a dog and the people who love them. If you’re walking this road too, I see you.

This is a long personal journey for us and we’re not looking for treatment advice in the comments, just sharing what our life looks like right now. 💕

Creating opportunities for your blind dog to tune into their other senses can be incredibly helpful in supporting them as they shift into decompression mode rather than reactive mode.

I recommend practicing these skills with friends or family in a safe environment first before taking them out into the real world. This gives your dog the opportunity to learn, build confidence, and be successful.

And if you're looking for fun new skills to teach your blind or deaf dog, I offer virtual 1:1 sessions that will provide you with the support you have been looking for! Head to the link in my bio to schedule a free call to get started.
