This is a very special star of the week ✨️
This week, there are two: Skye and Islay
We have been caring for Islay a few times a week for a few months now and she has become a huge part of our heart. She is a big girl with a big heart who LOVES her stuffed animals.
Skye is no longer here with us, and we unfortunately never had the opportunity to care for him.
This is a special week and a special post because even though we never had the opportunity to know Skye, his family has told his story through memories in both our meet and greets, through pictures, and remembrances around the home. Skye was Islay's big brother and they loved each other very much, and I can only imagine the loss Islay and her family experienced when he passed. During the holiday season, it's often a time of joy and happiness, but sometimes it's a time of sadness when we realize that our best friends are no longer here physically to share it with us. If this holiday you are struggling, please know you are not alone, and one day I hope their memory brings a smile with the tears when you look at their christmas ornament or picture. Islay's family shares Skye's story with us everyday with beautiful memories and we are incredibly grateful to be in this part of Islay's life and to have her in ours.
