Happy 8th birthday Miss Ella. We celebrated with water play and sardines her favorite! šŸŽ‚šŸŽ‰
Since moving her to Farmers Dog food, she has lost 9 lbs and her coat is back with shine and silk! More importantly her allergic reactions are much less!! šŸ‘

For those struggling with allergies… Ella has had bad allergies since moving to Arizona. The specialist says it has to do with the dry air, warm climate and plants. We knew she was sensitive to chicken but here it’s citrus trees, grass, and a bunch more trees.
She’s been on Meds for 5 years and they smooth the licking but not much more.
Two months ago I started her on Farmers dog pork blend. No kibble! Add an egg or sardines weekly too. And she now has Cytopoint shot every 4 weeks no pills.
Her coat is oily again, no licking and little scratching. What really matters is her p**p! It’s 1:3 the amount from kibble and doesn’t stink.
I’m hoping we can extend the shots given a few months of new food.
Food is expensive but I can really see the difference in two months!

If you were to come in and meet Cosmo (ADOPTED! āœ…) right now, what you’d see is his frustration… and if you were to follow the lead of all other potential adopters before you, you’d keep walking and maybe even mutter ā€œwow, that dog is a LOT.ā€ šŸ˜…

We’re looking for a family that can see past the frustration and recognize the potential… because while Cosmo’s frustration may feel big, his potential is even bigger. šŸ’Æ

While we don’t know for sure what Cosmo’s breed makeup is, he appears to have some guardian dog tendencies, which undoubtedly plays into his kennel presence. Behind all the barking and jumping is a dog who would literally do A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G to have a job. He thrives when he has purpose and can put his sharp mind and working energy to good use. For Cosmo, a fun routine including enrichment, adventure and learning would do his heart (and his mind) a whole lotta good.

Cosmo gets a taste of what he would consider The Good Life every time a volunteer approaches his kennel with a long lead in hand. Always game to explore, this guy *literally* jumps at the opportunity to walk around our campus and get in as many sniffs as possible in the woods. He loves the bonus independence a long lead gives him and doesn’t take it for granted: he’s a wonderful walking buddy and is responsive to his name.

This guy does get pretty animated when he sees other pups! We’ve tested him with a variety of dogs and have found that he does best with those who are a similar size (he’s 66 pounds) and also have a rough-and-tumble playstyle. We don’t know that he has experience with cats.

Adventure awaits, and Cosmo wants to be right by your side through all of it. If you’re looking for a dog who will show you a level of loyalty you’ve never seen before... we’d love for you to come in and ask to take Cosmo for a walk.

Please don’t let his frustration in the kennel keep you from adding an incredible member to your family. ā™„ļø

Our Adoption Center is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed) and we’re located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH. See you soon!

Animal cruelty is something we all need to help establish. Arizona has one of the highest abandonments I’ve ever seen where people just dump the dog sometimes with their puppies in the desert. Unbelievable!!!

Imagine a world where dogs took bad owners to the pound. A German Shepherd would recognize neglect immediately, because they are built on trust and deep emotional bonds. Their loyalty is fierce, but it is never blind to mistreatment. In that world, devotion would be protected instead of exploited.
