Kickn' Back Ranch Horse Rescue We are here to connect horses in need with people in need. Rehabilitating one heart at a time. We are an equine rescue that specializes in rehabilitating horses.

We also offer riding lessons, basic horsemanship lessons, therapy for special needs, therapy for at risk kids, or kids just having a hard time or looking for a hobby. I want to show you guys what a little love and tlc can do for a horse. When these two got to the property they were so helpless and scared. Had no idea what was to come for them being at this new property. Today they are both at a new home TOGETHER remaining best friends. Bodi who is now Winston is being ridden weekly and progressing everyday! Juliette still needs some weight but she turned from this scared bag of bones to just a slightly underweight loving mare. I love seeing progress in horses and remember it only takes that one person to care enough for them to make that improvement!

Yard and arena are completely p**p free.. all water buckets are scrubbed clean including a new one added for our new addition who will be arriving this afternoon.
After rehoming our dominant mare miss KD and snickers went into a depression so thankfully Braxton "yaya" came across a mare who needed a home just as much as we need her here. Hopefully she will be able to complete the herd again and the girls can be happy!

Today we decided that the two most recent horses we rescued deserved to spend the rest of their days together. We are very blessed that our dear friends who took Winston said they would take Juliette as well, so we reunited Winston and Juliette at there forever home where they will both be spoiled and loved. They will get to remain best friends for the rest of their days. Safe to say I think he was very happy to see her!

Meet Daisy and Luke. Two standard size donkeys that we rescued from a kill pen about 8 months ago. They were both captured from the wild and have not had much handeling.
Luke is 7 months old and is our big puppy dog. He LOVES his people and loves to play around. He is not halter broke but he is willing and ready to learn. He is still a jack.
Daisy is more shy as she hasn't had any human contact until being at the sale barn. Since being here she is finally accepting humans and so badly want to be loved on. There is a possibility she is bred again from being at the sale barn with other jacks. I have not confirmed it and you are more then welcome to bring a vet out to check at your expense.
These two will be sold as a pair. I will not separate them. Luke will make a great kids donkey and Daisy could make a great packing donkey or just a companion. They both are super sweet but still scared from their experience.

Last thing for today!! :P I have to share with you the power that coconut oil has!!! The first day Romeo arrived of course he found the one place to trip and cut himself, my mom being the worry bug she is thought for sure he would need stitches so we got the vet out but in the spot he cut himself the stitches would never hold so it was keep it clean and do what we can.. at first we used swat and vetricyn and quickly switched to coconut oil and stuck with that only.
